Looking to get a new system tempted to get a dual screen set up, just interested to see if anyone has any recommendations?

I use dual screens, I found it best to get two exactly the same. That way, it's easier to get the resolution and colour to match. A dual monitor stand helps as well rather than two separate stands. The trick is to let your eyes do the moving, not your neck. Quicker and easier, imo. So you need your monitors on the same level and very close together.

Agree about getting 2 same/similar monitors to make it work better. As long as they have same native resolution settings anyway. Remember you need a graphics card with a twin output on it. This should be twin DVI as well, not one DVI and one VGA. You don't need a very fast card (if you are not playing games) but one with the right connections.

actually whatever you buy will accomodate at least twin screen set up.(OS permitting)

even if you get vga monitor you can connect to a dvi output with a £4 adapter.

Even if you have a graphics card with single output you can use a splitter cable to connect dual screen.

the splitter cable will display the same image on both screens, i use one from my laptop to display images to the tv and a second monitor at the same time.

you need two vga out ports, or a laptop with 1 vga port

My computer had built-in graphics with only one VGA output. I bought a PCI-E graphics card with two outputs (DVI & VGA) for £25 and hooked up two monitors. You can get USB graphics cards to save you opening your machine but many people say they are slow.
