I referred a friend for the february promotion where you refer a friend and once they bet up to £50 you and your friend and credited with up to £50.
So far I have only been credited £20 but my friend has spent well over £50 on their account so I was assuming my account would be credited £50 and so would my friends.
I am in the process of emailing them for advice on what is happening and will post on here my repsonse.

interesting.... I have heard others say they had difficulty getting the full amount.
Im sure its worth it in the long run but i dont really want to have to chase betfair up every week if they dont pay out. the initial process seems simple enough.
let me know how you get on with your email to them!
cheers

I have received a response saying the promotion was pulled on the 26th Feb and because my friend signed up on the 27th Feb they did not qualify for the £50 double earn and refer promotion.
I have emailed them back and asked for more info as the terms & conditions (which I have a copy of) state the promotion runs up to 23.59 of the 29/02/10.
They cover themselves with Term 18 of the T&C
Betfair may at any time suspend or void the Scheme for any reason that Betfair, in its absolute discretion, thinks appropriate and any liability from Betfair to you shall immediately cease upon you being informed of such action. In respect of any dispute, howsoever arising, Betfair's decision will be final.
But its all very shoddy in my opinion, they could basically promote any sort of enticing promotions, yet when you sign up they can hide behind Term 18 ad say it was pulled prior to the sign up.
I will let you know how I get on but as a loyal betfair punter for many years it has left a bad taste in the mouth.

A mate of mine signed up using my referral for the £40 during cheltenham and got a follow up phone a few days later promoting virtual racing and casino to him :)
In the call they said he had a £25 bonus, seems very shoddily done. In the old days I might have been tempted to refer mates to here but that's the first and last time for me.

Unfortunately we were receiving a lot of abuse with this promotion which has caused us to pull the promotion early. Any accounts opened on or after the 26th February will be subject to the usual Refer & Earn promotion which is once the friend you have referred has matched £25 worth of bets on the Sports Exchange they will receive £25 into their accounts. For the referrer to receive any credit, the friend you have referred will need to match £150 worth of bets in the first 12 months of the account being opened. Once they have done this, the referrer will receive £20.
We can sympathise that you may not have been abusing the promotion, however there are people that have been doing so, which has forced us to pull this promotion early.
I think this is poor - If the promotion was pulled as they say surely an email could have been sent or something posted on the site saying the promotion no longer existed. I have said as much in my reply to them.

Once again, thank you for your quick reply and your explanation. I don't require a response to this email but I do want to make 2 final points.
Whilst accepting your decision, I do think its poor form not to have advertised that the promotion had been pulled on the Betfair site or by emailing everyone on your mailing list as soon as Betfair made this decision.
From a punters point of view, its made me think that there is nothing to stop Betfair advertising enticing promotions and then once the punter has done what is required to meet the promotion and thinking they will get the the relevant reward, betfair turning round and saying it was pulled.
Its certainly made me cynical and unlikely to contribute to any future promotions.
