Hope someone can suggest something here because betfair aren't responding.

1) When I download the spreadsheets from "profit and loss" and "Betting history" and I try to open them using excel I get a message saying "This document is corrupt and cannot be opened . . ." blah blah.

Now this problem has only occurred since formatting my hard drive and installing the 64 bit version of windows 7. So is it the fact I'm using 64 bit? If so what can I do about it?

2) I use firefox but most often the betfair windows do not fully load. I have to refresh the page whenever I open a new betfair tab or window. This problem was occurring before when I was using vista 32 bit and 2 GB of RAM. And it's still occurring after I formated the hard drive, installed the 64 bit version of windows 7, and now have a total of 6GB of RAM.

So I'm completely baffled about this. Does everyone who uses firefox experience this problem? Because I don't understand why it's still there even after a format of my hard drive. Does anyone have any suggestions?

PC might be fine, could be your router or modem at fault.

Don't have a router. You mean for Betfair loading up? Why should it effect ONLY betfair and why only the firefox browser? Seems extremely unlikely to me!

If Internet Explorer is working perfectly fine then yes it's unlikely to be a router/modem issue. Dodgy network devices do sometimes exhibit problems only with certain websites.

I didn't realise you meant it only affected firefox and nothing else though. Do you have any additional browser addons/extensions/toolbars installed in firefox? Does it still happen with your AV turned off? Maybe it's just some 64 bit compatibility bug. Sorry I don't know what else to suggest.

What's av? I tried uninstalling all add ons, but to no avail. Just reinstalled firefox.

My bigger problem is not being able to download spreadsheets from profit and loss and betting history. I guess that is something to do with me having 64 bit os now.

Anyone recommend a browser for betfair apart from firefox, explorer or chrome?

Why not copy the betfair data which comes in an excel type file into aporper excel file, rather than saving it?
It should take a second.
When you get the data in a spreadsheet its not in a good format anyway, you need to use the =value( ) funtcion to get numbers you can use.

I have no idea what you mean "getting better"!

I've downloaded open office and now it saves to that format. However I can't widen the columns and the ability to do so is greyed out. But I can just copy from that and paste into an excel file. Then I have to highlight the figures and convert.

If anyone knows of an easier way of doing all this then please let me know!

cosmic, it could be a compatability problem between Windows 7, 64 bit os and excel, have a look at this forum, maybe it will help?

I have the same problem, have to download them to the desktop then open them from there. Brings up some corrupt message even then but they open up with no missing data

I am using Firefox and have the same problem number 2 as you. Sometimes, not always I dont think, when I have Betfair open, and I try to open a 2nd Betfair in another tab, the top of the screen loads but nothing else. p.s. I dont load betfair.com, i load sports.betfair.com. (but that is how I have always done it).

I believe this problem only just started now I am on the newer version of Firefox, but can't really be sure about that point.

Yes the top of the window loads, but nothing else. At least sometimes this problem occurs when I have more than one betfair tab open.
Why are betfair recommending people use firefox given this problem??

its a nuisance, but easily loads when you click on sports though. not really a big problem.
