This is till bloody hard to do even after years on here. The temptation to want more is powerful, and usually ends in tears every time. How many times have you been nicely in front, could have stopped, but carred on and lost, happens to me so many times.

Each to their own, but I always carry on when I'm up, or down or anything else lol. Reason being, if your method works, the more you play the more you will win. The worst thing anyone can do is decide whether to quit when ahead on particular occasions and carry on on others, ending up getting it wrong twice. Consistency is everything IMO.

why quit when you're getting it right?
its when you're getting it wrong you need to quite and figure out what the problem is.

The main reason for me to ever quit while I'm ahead is a psychological one - makes me feel better for the rest of the day if I quit while I'm up. As mentioned, it's hard to do though, as there's always that thought that my mind must be thinking correctly to be getting things right today, so let's keep going.

only quit when you realise that you've missed 10 minutes of a match and there's dribble on your chin

The ability to know when to stop is one that is soo difficult to acquire. In my eyes there is not a problem with gambling as long as you maintain limits. Only wager a certain amount in a particular amount of time, whether it be a day limit or monthly limit. When i win big i make sure i withdraw at least double of whatever i wagered. Using this method i have never gambled away anything that would come close to harming my bank balance. Gambling can be fun but not when you get addicted. Dont let it happen

A friend of mine had a large e/w bet on mon mome at 150/1. By 7pm when i say him later that day he'd blown the winnings and more on the slots.

Don't think you should quit winning or losing, just think you should take a profit or loss in equal measure and start again as normal the day after.

Playing the slots or chasing losses equals disaster!

quit when your mental side tells you that you should.

Winning or losing if you know your mentality isnt right then stop betting and wait for another day when your mental side is bang on

Perhaps you should decide when to quit BEFORE you start.
