very smooth so far this afternoon, which begs the question why does it seem so flaky on Saturday afternoons and Champions League evenings, or is it just me who gets that?

Do many people actually do the Cheltenham thing who don't bet the rest of the year? I'm not convinced.

having 1000's of football match's offered on minor leagues that non cares about cannot help with the bots bombarding the site on each market sending it into slowdow........n.

CL evenings is generally alright for me.

Saturday afternoons is the only time it reguarly crashes in my experience and i use the purple site then instead.

In a business that operates all year round, 24 hours a day, there is no good time to have planned outages. However, it was essential for us to complete the work well before the Cheltenham Festival, when the best racing in the calendar causes a huge uplift in the volume of bets placed.

i lifted this from the service forum lori.

i suppose the interesting thing is making sure the site can take lots of bets. thinking about it, i doubt the ones who hammer the site is probably more dependent on the number of simultaneous markets rather than the size of the event.

Cheers DStyle, didn't realise.

Also, makes sense that the hammerers dont hammer any more today than any other day now you mention it.

that last bit didn't make much sense.

i would imagine cheltenham results in a lot more bets on each market from people looking to bet outright, but there aren't going to be a whole load of new 100 msec refresh, trading software users coming on to the site just because of cheltenham.
