Can you tell me how to show my liability on my current bets.

You can see this in the market if you tick the "show profit and loss" box under the "more options" tab located directly under the refresh button.

I think I'm looking at the right thing.

When I place a bet I can see the liability for that particular bet or any bet I place on that market, however what I am hoping for is to be able to see my liability for all the bets I have, in various markets, all in one place. Eg. Real Madrid to win, lay Man U to win, lay 0 0 hoffenheim etc

Is this possible, or do I need to become 20 years younger and regain a decent memory, or use a bit of paper and a pencil,

Not quite what you want, but go to "My Account" then "Current Bets" that's all bets though not liability, so depends how many bets you have in a market as to how useful it's going to be to you.

If you go to 'My Account' then the Account Summary will show the amount avaialble to bet AND your 'Current Exposure' which is, I think, the figure you are looking for.

I get the impression (and if I'm wrong I'd like to see it anyway) he'd like a list like

Man Utd/Someone -100
Golf: Will Tiger play the masters -20
Baseball: Tampa Bay rays WS -15

Total -135
