Used to run a bar in Tenerife...Made more running it as a dodgy betting/poker den tbh!

No punters there at the moment and most locals are potless. Hard times there at the moment.

Think you maybe a bit wrong there Layem, the last month has been really busy. Saturday in Hoppers was as busy as a good pitch in the UK.

How much to buy in ???

Mark, was speaking to TD last week.............................its dead.

I spoke to him yesterday, he said he was quite but i told him we've got busy again. Its always quiet betting wise in Tenerife in the summer but not Oct' till May.

friiendly bar , good value for money food and lively entertainment at night.

adge... there still there, nothings changed, just putting the racing in there cos its a lot better than Hoppers.

not sure if you have space foe a few pc's but if you set up a quiet corner for inrunning , you'll get some regulars. most paying over 200 a week here anyways. won't mind paying a bit extra to trade in the sun.

i'd obviously pay for the chance to sit there and use the pics.

Kavvie, not sure about the cost of a bar................but you just cant set a a betting business. Its not legal and as such you need "permission" from certain people. Mark will tell you it not free.

Yeah i worked in Strikers today. Bloody parrots still there but not as bad!!

Hologon there is a sports bar takin bets in puerto del carmen, there is also an Itrish bar that takes em further towards los picolos its upstairs on a terrace , an irish bar, its for sale bar and bookies 50k.

your right mark had some brilliant holidays in harlequins, never saw the sun all week. when i first discovered harlequins your dad was in with you and your brother gary. didnt your dad buy a furniture shop .you,ll no me big fella used to get sat in the corner opposite your counter.sorry to hear about billy he was the baldy fellow wasnt,he.had his picture on the wall posing with lennox lewis.i hope you your dad and gary are all well i used to come about 6 times a year wife was a white haired lady used to drop me

Mr Crisp... I know exactly who you are. Thats not Billy that was Mick, he used to run the bar and cook for Billy, Billy just shoved all the profits up his nose hense the bar having to shut!! Mick now runs a kitchen in an old peoples home in the UK. My dads gone back home to, his youngest son got a trial with Port Vale and Garys gone home to cos he missed his 2 boys so much, they were both here for 20 years.

pleased to hear micks ok,can remember ever seeing billy if i did ididn,t realise he was the boss.there were some real characters got in there. dave that had the nightclubs i think he was from luton was stone mad, betting with your gary ietheir odd or even, or under or over 25 on the rapido balls for any thing up to a thick one a ball. is he still on the go.

Not seen David for a long time, think he had a couple of heart attacks.

remember once drinking in a round with dave and this other fella called terry who was telling us ,about all the race horses that he owned. being a complete cynic who attracts **ters like a magnet i took no notice .a couple of weeks later i watching the racing in the pub and here,s terry leading rooster booster into the winners enclousure if your reading this mr warner i hope your fit and well i get many a chuckle when a tell this tale.

dont want to put a spanner in the works but when I lived in lanzarote (admitidly 3 years ago betting inrunning was out of the question as there was a massive delay on the pics the island was getting.

The girl who runs it is useless, she`s not paid her rent for a year so she`s getting kicked out and nobody is taking it on cos the rent is to high. The Irish Rose will be better anyway, €1 a pint all day, great food, and its a bigger bar, also its nice for the women to sit, looking over the beach.
