General Betting

I am real newbie to excel and with some help already from Lenze I am starting to master some of the basics!
What I am trying to achieve now is this -
If I insert the letter W into cell A1 it populates cell A4 with whatever figure is in A2 and if I insert L into A1 it populates cell A4 with whatever figure is in A3.
Hope that makes sense !
