Just cancel your multiroom, you'll still have the freeview channels etc.

A wireless video sender could be the solution. You can't watch a different channel upstairs to what is viewable downstairs, but if you're essentially looking for the means to watch telly in bed etc., then it'll fit the bill well. :)

No need for another sky box, just run a cable out of the main box to upstairs and plug that into a magic eye which you can get for a few quid and then into the TV

I take it you can't get freeview in your area, and websites such as catchuptv.com out of the question?

Get Sky Player downloaded onto a Windows 7 laptop.
Connect laptop to tv.
Gets a lot of channels but not all.
