I've just requested and received a complete list of matched bets I've ever made. Most of my bets are on football and unfortunately it doesn't specify which leagues my bets have been placed on eg whether any particular match is a premier league game, champions league game etc. Can anyone suggest any quick way of sorting them?
It has for eg Fixtures 02 January / Barcelona v Alcoyano; Correct Score all in one column! But will be sorting that using text to columns so that eventually I'll have all in separate columns including the teams in separate columns.

It's hardly a quick method, but you could use hlookup and make a table of teams/years in which division.
Then you can do something like IF date = blah year, hlookup from appropriate table to get the division.
It's long winded but will be faster than doing it manually, and as always, someone better than me will have a faster idea im sure.

it's a long winded method but if it has the event id in the data provided you could download the historical data which gives you the full market name (e.g. Spanish Soccer/Spanish Cup/Fixtures 07 January /Gijon v Valladolid/Total Goals)

I have got the historical data as well and they both have event id. So the 2 lots of data have a common column.
Trouble is my excel skills are a bit basic. Any pointers as to how I would go about doing this?

vlookup and hlookup are well worth the day it'll probably take you to learn them and get comfortable
Googling will be better than any explanation I can give though.

Hmmm . . yes just have done. At the moment this doesn't seem too much of a problem. Quite straightforward in fact. No doubt I'll encounter loads of problems when I actually attempt to do it though!
