Looks like it has been pulled.

OK who was it went & upset Peewee again?
Report QUINNO February 20, 2010 3:31 PM GMT
TGT, can geeks toy be automatically set to green up at your chosen profit on the correct score market ?
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 3:36 PM GMT
It was removed some time between 10 and 11 this morning. I would imagine that somebody complained about it. Possibly, somebody who doesn't like The Toy very much ? Who knows ?
It isn't important. The Toy is the best software that I have used and I think I've tried them all. They all have good points but the Toy is the fastest and the one that is most flexible for adjustment according to personal taste.
Gruss Software is good too but I don't like the others much. I think that everybody should try as many as they can and then decide.
It's strange that the softwares I like most are also the cheapest.
Report QUINNO February 20, 2010 3:40 PM GMT
Cheers Mr spleem, not used this type of thing before but thought i would give it a go. Only using small stakes at the moment but like the way it works.
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 3:46 PM GMT
It's very simple to use but very complicated at the same time ! By this I mean that there are so many features for customising that possibilities seem endless. If you have any problems, yes any problems, just ask for help in the Geek's Toy forum and you'll get a sensible answer very quickly.
Report QUINNO February 20, 2010 3:49 PM GMT
thanks

I've heard that the owner of another well known API product has some clout in betfair towers and any thread he doesn't like, whether about his API ot trading course will get pulled if he makes the phone call.
Report know all February 20, 2010 4:15 PM GMT
they pulled because its spammed on here every day, need more dreamers to fund the fast in running consortium who take advantage of those dreamers
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 4:17 PM GMT
I think it is better for us not to get involved with such things. If this thread makes people aware of just how good The Toy is, nobody will be able to remove it. There is no need for any Toy user to rubbish any of the other products. I use it because it is so clearly better than many others available.
My advice to all is download it, try it for yourself and make up your own mind.
No contest ! The Toy is the best.

Is it safe?... Is it safe?

You're talking to me?

Is it safe?

Is what safe?

Is it safe?

I don't know what you mean. I can't tell you something's safe or not, unless I know specifically what you're talking about.

Is it safe?

Tell me what the "it" refers to.

Is it safe?

Yes, it's safe, it's very safe, it's so safe you wouldn't believe it.

Is it safe?

No. It's not safe, it's... very dangerous, be careful.
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 4:34 PM GMT

GT is very fast it's true but i wouldn't call it very user friendly. BA gets quite a bashing on the GT forum and i'm not quite sure why. Perhaps i am missing something but i just couldn't find a way of replicating the BA pane that has 3 close buttons, One for current price, reverse and user set. Is there a similiar feature on GT?
Report Norma Stitz February 20, 2010 5:07 PM GMT
How's that Aussie Manc doing?
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 5:12 PM GMT
It's very user-friendly for me because I have made it exactly as I want it to be for me. It is easily the fastest product available. Why ? I don't know. I have no idea about what is "under the hood" as they say.
Nobody is saying that none of the currently available softwares do not have their own particular merits. They do, otherwise they would not survive. It just seems to me that The Toy has more strong points than most and wins the argument easily if speed is the principal consideration.

It's a long story mate and this fred would get pulled before we got very far. So I won't bovver. :(
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 5:18 PM GMT
Very wise not to bother :) The Toy will sell itself. Absolutely no point in criticising other softwares. I am sure I have used them all and found them all to be worthwhile in their own way.

is it better than bet angel basic? and if so, in what ways? Thanks
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 5:38 PM GMT
In too many ways ! Just try it for yourself and make up your own mind. Customer support is first-rate too.
Report GAZZAGINOLA February 20, 2010 6:59 PM GMT
ok thanks. is it more stable and reliable than bet angel. mine crashed today in the pompey stoke game and cost me £300. Not happy!
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 7:13 PM GMT
I had two crashes when I used BetAngel Pro. Fortunately, I didn't lose much money, hardly anything, in fact. These things can happen with all types of software and I'm sorry that you lost today because of it. I am not going to criticise BetAngel and say it is rubbish because is a good software. Crashes can happen for all sorts of reasons. I prefer The Toy.
I have used it for many months now and it has not crashed yet. Maybe it will one day but it hasn't yet. You really have to try it for yourself. If you wish to trade only one market, The Toy takes up only a small part of your screen. There is a comprehensive manual with the software.

has anyone tryed betfair rapid?
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 7:27 PM GMT
Yes, I've tried Betfair Rapid. Very good but fundamentally different. Try them all for yourself.
Report kingmax February 20, 2010 7:30 PM GMT
im happy with rapid.. but does geektoy offer anything that rapid dosent..?
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 7:34 PM GMT
Betfair Rapid can only refresh at 5 requests per second, I believe. In its default state The Toy refreshes at 15 rps and can be faster if necessary. Betfair Rapid is an enormous improvement over trying to trade using the Betfair main site and is a good product but nowhere near as good as The Toy.
Report QUINNO February 20, 2010 7:42 PM GMT
Mr.Spleem, which markets do you usually trade ?
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 7:47 PM GMT
I trade pre-race horses some times. My favoured market is football Overs/Unders market. Also rugby union, usually total match points and match tries. I am developing an interest in tennis trading as a lot of other guys who use the Toy seem to trade it for hours at a time. Big swings sometimes but I'm taking it easy until I find my way around.
Presently hoping for goals in the Inter V Sampdoria game, none yet, but Inter down to 9 men so I have a chance :)
Report QUINNO February 20, 2010 7:51 PM GMT
Don't know a thing about horses so leave well alone, usually stick to the football. Do the odds move quite quickly in the overs/unders market ?
Report kingmax February 20, 2010 7:51 PM GMT
i hate horses.. i ALWAYS lose.. if i layed a 100/1 shot it would romp home!!
Report QUINNO February 20, 2010 7:54 PM GMT

I could write a book on these markets as I have been studying them for nearly three years now. Obviously, when a goal is scored, the price changes dramatically. Mosty price movements are predictable enough but sometimes strange things happen especially if layers start bullying.

Would anyone recommend the toy for just trading football tried betangel some months ago failed at trading on the nags and didnt think it was worth paying just for football. . . .
Report Mr.Spleem February 20, 2010 7:57 PM GMT
The Toy is perfect for football trading.
Report Bridgeboy February 20, 2010 8:01 PM GMT
Thanks will try it from monday. . . .

TT is free so everyone (in my opinion) should look to download it.

Worst case scenario is losing an hour of your life to set it up and see if you can make it work.
Report GAZZAGINOLA February 20, 2010 8:06 PM GMT
Thanks for your response mr spleen. Very interesting and i think i will look into sampling the toy. i know all software can fail and crash and today i just had a bit of bad luck and bad timing. a valuable lesson has bin learnt and on a positive note, my luck has changed for the better. I laid inter for £500 and moments later they get to red cards so i have won the lost £300 back with a nice bit of interest! phew! Good luck with your horse trading and i hope theres goals in the remaining 30 mins of this game. Cheers

This is the function I liked best when I used BA pro. Use gruss now but I dont think this an option.
Report The Geeks Toy February 21, 2010 3:34 PM GMT
You can do all that using the Profit & Loss Column & green out @ any price.
Report good value losers February 22, 2010 1:02 PM GMT
anyone using this on 2 runner markets should be aware it doesn't always deliver the best greening up solution, especially if the fav has flipflopped.

i think this flaw is bad enough that a warning should be added to the help files.
Report mginvest February 22, 2010 2:31 PM GMT
That's the thing. If you want to quickly put in a lay at your own price it doesn't seem very simple or quick. Also if you change the bet price at the side after submitting a bet it asks for confirmation. Again i may be missing something.
