I sent in a couple of names but my mates haven't heard anything from Betfair. When do they start?

^assuming youre not fishing, and whilst not really understanding the last part of your question, you would have to give your friend your account code (found in the refer and earn section of 'my account'), which they then enter when they sign up. get him to bet 50 quid and youre done.

cheers Bacon, i'm not fishing - it hard to persuade someone to use Betfair, I simply thought by adding their names and addresses, my pals would get an e-mail explaining what to do. Looks like I'll have to do it for them :(

Where does this show up? Does it only display their usernames after they have wagered the required amount and received the bonus?

I have referred 2 friends recently and don't see their names listed anywhere, but they haven't bet £50 yet.

no worries howie, only asked cos youve been here a fair old while! can relate to what you say, it has definitely been a hold their hand process when getting my mates to sign up!

^ to above, the bonus only becomes activated once your friend has staked the 50 quid. after then, you still have to hang on a couple of days, then the funds and the name of your mate will show up at about the same time.

The way I am reading it is refer a friend with your code

they create an account and wager £50 on bets/poker/casino etc

once they have done that you the referrer are credited £50 in your account and your friend is also given another £50.

is that right?? or am I missing some hidden technicallity

That is correct, it doesn't have to be a 50 pound bet though, they could have 5 10 pound bets, I think they have up to a year to wager the 50 pound. Usually takes about 3 days to get credited with the bonus in your account.

If I refer a friend will you guarantee not to impose a 20% commission charge (aka premium charge) as you did to me when I won too much on your site?
