Over the past couple of months BF have rolled out the unmanaged footie markets and have added an extra dimension to the Championship betting for myself.

But over the past few weeks a bot or a number of bots have had me wondering how are they getting the goal updates quicker than and of the livescoring websites, sky sports or radio 5. I can understand that there is local radio for such games, and they will be plenty enough time ahead than the 8 secs inplay to change the odds before Sky or futbol24 (i find the quickest) give the goal alert. But take last night for example or a normal saturday - how can someone/bot manage 8 to 10 games all at once?

Excuse my ignorance as im a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to bots/techie stuff but has anyone got an idea how someone has got the feed/live updates from all these games? Do they have the same 8 second inplay countdown - or somehow skipping it so they can get the odds up faster (making it look like they are getting the info quicker) or is it BF themselves and are using someone for each game to monitor a local feed and update the odds accordingly?

Be interesting if someone could shed some light on this.

Cheers - wicklow

Betfair employees are allowed to bet while at work !!!!!
I'm not saying they can bet around the delay , but surely Betfair office has access to all the feeds.

Beating the delay - thats another one thats got me wondering, and I haven't noticed many threads on it recently. The 5/8 second delay that your normal BF punter is up against is without a doubt been broken or bypassed more and more. Within a 1 second or so of the suspend disappearing on some games the new odds will appear - when your normal punter is till facing the countdown.

Just a small example I was watching the Lyon/Madrid under/over 2.5 market, It was 1.2 at the time of the goal, and as soon as the suspend lifted 1.35 was sitting in the to back column almost instantaneously.

How is this possible and if people are beating the clock, surely its easy pickings when a goal is scored or a peno given and sometimes betfair might take say 2 secs to suspend.

Wicklow,

That's just bots firing in bets as soon as the market is unsuspended (mine does it too). It is possible that the website is unsuspended a couple of seconds late (and that you need to be using the API to get your bets in first), but there's no 'beating the in-play delay' going on.

Contrarian, as i dont use a bot myself i understand that i will see the suspension sign removed a few secs after them (2 secs at most?) , but that doesn't account for them to have enough time to get their odds up almost instantaneous when there is supposed to be a 5 sec processing time.

One of the reasons why it's clear that no-one is beating the clock is that it hardly ever happens that money is hoovered up when a goal is scored/penalty awarded. A couple of years ago, on some of the Spanish games Sky pictures were massively delayed (c. 45 seconds in some cases), and there were occasionally instances of hoovering - but this just doesn't happen any more. I, along with several others, run bots on the football markets that depend on Betfair suspending when there is a goal/penalty - if the sort of clock-beating you talk of were real, we'd just get hammered.

Fair enough Contrarian - Im not suggesting that the clock is been beaten for hoovering purposes it was more along the line of the hoovering of the "Keep Bets" when a market re-opens. How certain people/bots can get in so quickly.

But besides that, the main question was who/what is covering the championship matches - for someone/persons to be monitoring 8/10 games at once without making a mistake and to be always ahead of all live scoring info is pretty amazing.

wicklow keep bets there is always going to be a carnage when there is a goal being scored
eg Sat i bet Celtic pre match at 1.62 and put a keep bet in at 1.2 celtic scored early but only got matched for 1/2 my stake because of everyone is looking to secure a nice position then celtic became 1.23to back
beat the clock no chance its not the way to go is it

Sevey,

What i was trying to get at with the "keep bets" example was - say in the celtic game, 1.62 pre, and theres a lump at 1.8 in the lay column, someone hoping it might remain scoreless for a bit and the 1.8 will be filled. But say Aberdeen score first, the 1.8 is picked off within a matter of seconds after the suspension is removed. It seems some people can reduce the length of time it takes for the suspension to be removed and their bets hitting there screen than the normal punter.

Without getting side tracked - the stuff above has been done a fair few times over on the forum so this thread wasn't for that purpose. The main reason was the unmanaged markets - how/who is monitoring them all at once.

Yah i know that the SPL and Seria B are also covered - but I haven't paid much attention to them.

Basically if its one person who can someone manage the markets and the feeds for all matches then fair play to them - but i doubt thats the case as it would be virtually impossible as far as i'm aware. I just dont get how they can be so up to date with goals from every game so fast.
