Just doing this as a test of discipline really.

Will still have my other "usual" bets but fancy a go at this.

Please note that in no way am I suggesting that this is the way to profits galore.....because it isn't. You will never be successful LONG-TERM with rolling bets like this.

However, I have seen so many fail on this sort of challenge (as have I in the past) and it is sometimes an unlucky 0-0 but generally it is GREED.

Betting on leagues that you know feck all about such as Bulgaria and Romania for example are how people lose challenges like this so quickly.

So I will do the necessary research into every single bet before placing my bet and posting it on here.

If anyone else fancies joining in then you are more than welcome.

It should take around 40-50 bets to reach the target of £3.5k (odds dependent).

I think it could be quite useful to test my discipline with something like this as I know from experience how easy it is to get carried away with challenges like this when there are so many betting opportunities. Hopefully with a lot of patience, and a bit of luck, it can be done.

And if (when!) it goes tlts up then it is only £100.00 down the swanny!

1st bet will be posted tomorrow.

:)

I'll give it a go too but I will be making a selection then getting on IR usually in the first 20 mins or so when when I feel it hits good value and if a goal is scored before I bet then just leave it and onto the next one.

IR can be good to get a bit of value and I will also consider this for some selections

Been looking at the Kavala game at 14:45pm tommorrow lads, Noticed that they have 3 or 4 decent players in Itandje, Smolarek and Diogo Rincon.

Last time in this meeting it finished 1-0, 1.1 seems a good price.

Not very convincing I'm afraid, if it was 3-2 may have been worth looking into

I've always said I would do something like this, but then never done it, so why now give it a shot when others are doing it :)

Gives me more reason to stay with it and not just bet on random rubbish :D

BTW, Do we have to back 1+ goal, or can we lay 0-0

Depends where the liquidity is. Sometimes it's difficult getting matched on either (if and when your stake gets much bigger), and also a quick 'what if' will tell you which would be more profitable. Good luck to all having a go.

research has its merits - up to a point, BUT, and i keep saying this on the other thread, ANY game, as u must know, can and does, finish 0-0.
I go by intuition, mostly, tho i would stay away from the odd game such as say, two average portuguese sides, but i must say i just usually avoid certain games when i feel it in my bones!

Its good to have a goal (pun intended) such as reaching £3,500..but as m of m said, will u really be prepared to risk say 3000 on a bet? dont think id have the bottle, i was bad enough last night waiting for a goal in the scots' game and that was only for peanuts.

Hope it works for u though ill be watching with interest.

Yeah with the games called off I might have to get involved in some dodgy Greek stuff to get going lol

think 2 goals in bremen game could be alright, Depending on lineups that is
By:

When: 05 Jan 10 14:59
did you bet on the greek stuff in the end onionss?

i went for over 1.5 goals in the kevala match when it was 1-0 @ 1.23

they just scored to make it 1-1

the game was wide open having been watching it and looked a sure thing for another goal (strange for greek footy! wont be making a habit of it!) :D

Looking at the Serie B 5pm Kick Offs

4 games in play at 5pm

Ancona v Triestina

Empoli FC v Sassuolo Calcio

Modena FC v AC Cesena

US Lecce v Vicenza Calcio
By:
Kopland
When: 05 Jan 10 15:15
The one I immediately don't like is Modena v Cesena

Although Modena decent for goals at home Cesena seem pretty negative and stubborn away from home

Cesena's last 5 away games:

11.12.2009 D2 Serie B Calcio Padova AC Cesena 1-0
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC AC Cesena 2-0
15.11.2009 D2 Serie B AC Mantova AC Cesena 0-1
31.10.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona AC Cesena 0-0
11.10.2009 D2 Serie B Vicenza Calcio AC Cesena 0-0

so Modena v Cesena is a definite no bet for 1+ in my opinion
By:
Kopland
When: 05 Jan 10 15:21
So of the other 3 5pm Italian games:

Ancona (2nd) v Triestina (15th)

Last 5 Ancona home games:

12.12.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona Brescia Calcio 2-0
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona US Sassuolo Calcio 2-2
15.11.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona Vicenza Calcio 2-0
31.10.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona AC Cesena 0-0
27.10.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona Piacenza Calcio 2-1

Last 5 Triestina away games:

14.12.2009 D2 Serie B Reggina Calcio US Triestina 3-1
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B Modena FC US Triestina 2-0
07.11.2009 D2 Serie B Brescia Calcio US Triestina 2-2
27.10.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC US Triestina 1-1
24.10.2009 D2 Serie B Calcio Padova US Triestina 0-0

seems to point to goals and a home win. however, Triestina can be a stubborn team, and their last 5 home games show they are no mugs defensively with 5 clean sheets in a row and i would expect them to travel to 2nd placed Ancona with designs on stopping Ancona playing:

05.12.2009 D2 Serie B US Triestina FC Crotone 0-0
01.12.2009 Cup Round 4 US Triestina US Sassuolo Calcio 1-0
21.11.2009 D2 Serie B US Triestina AS Cittadella 2-0
15.11.2009 D2 Serie B US Triestina Ascoli Calcio 1898 2-0
31.10.2009 D2 Serie B US Triestina Torino FC 2-0

not 100% on this one but not ruling it out either.
By:

Empoli (5th) v Sassuolo Calcio (4th)

Two teams very evenly matched as the league positions suggest.

Their last 2 meetings have finished 3-2 and 4-0 both in Empoli's favour.

Empoli's last 5 home games:

12.12.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC Vicenza Calcio 1-0
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC AC Cesena 2-0
06.11.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC Reggina Calcio 2-0
27.10.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC US Triestina 1-1
24.10.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC Ascoli Calcio 1898 4-2

Sassuolo Calcio's last 5 away games:

12.12.2009 D2 Serie B Torino FC US Sassuolo Calcio 0-1
08.12.2009 D2 Serie B Reggina Calcio US Sassuolo Calcio 0-2
01.12.2009 Cup Round 4 US Triestina US Sassuolo Calcio 1-0
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona US Sassuolo Calcio 2-2
31.10.2009 D2 Serie B Frosinone Calcio US Sassuolo Calcio 0-3

would appear a decent bet for 1+ based on the above - the only thing is the tight league positions between them may lead to a tight game. another potential back here.
By:

When: 05 Jan 10 15:29
Finally we have:

Lecce (1st) v Vicenza (9th)

Lecce lead the division and their last 5 home games show decent scoring form as well as showing that they are far from water tight at the back (other than the recent 0-0):

12.12.2009 D2 Serie B US Lecce Ascoli Calcio 1898 0-0
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B US Lecce US Grosseto 3-2
15.11.2009 D2 Serie B US Lecce Calcio Padova 2-1
31.10.2009 D2 Serie B US Lecce Empoli FC 1-0
27.10.2009 D2 Serie B US Lecce Reggina Calcio 3-2

Vicenza's away form reads as follows:

12.12.2009 D2 Serie B Empoli FC Vicenza Calcio 1-0
28.11.2009 D2 Serie B Calcio Padova Vicenza Calcio 1-2
15.11.2009 D2 Serie B AC Ancona Vicenza Calcio 2-0
31.10.2009 D2 Serie B Modena FC Vicenza Calcio 1-0
17.10.2009 D2 Serie B FC Crotone Vicenza Calcio 1-2

and history between these sides also suggests goals:

01.06.2008 D2 Serie B US Lecce Vicenza Calcio 1-0
19.01.2008 D2 Serie B Vicenza Calcio US Lecce 1-3
19.05.2007 D2 Serie B Vicenza Calcio US Lecce 1-3
22.12.2006 D2 Serie B US Lecce Vicenza Calcio 1-2
17.05.2003 D2 Serie B Vicenza Calcio US Lecce 1-1
15.12.2002 D2 Serie B US Lecce Vicenza Calcio 1-1
20.05.2001 D1 Serie A Vicenza Calcio US Lecce 0-0
14.01.2001 D1 Serie A US Lecce Vicenza Calcio 3-1

looks like a decent bet for 1+ as well as a home win. the main worry being lightening striking twice after Lecce's last home match finished 0-0.

So other than the Modena v Cesena match all games have potential for a 1+ back and all at decent odds of 1.10-1.13.

Will wait for team news and look at the stats a bit more before deciding.

Would be interesting to know what others think re: goals in these games. :)
