General Betting

Youve all seen it before; Im making my own thread so I stay disciplined and can have a place to put my methodology for all to see and abuse. Im not the greatest at betting but everyone needs a little luck and I aim to slim the chances of failure by using multiples on smaller odds.
The aim is to reach £500 from a small £10 stake (for a student thats a decent number to stop at, especially as Im currently £200 down). This should take 6 bets taking into account commission. I may withdraw a few hundred and continue if it is successful.
I know most of you couldnt give a monkey what Im doing but hopefully this will benefit me and any abuse aimed towards my decisions may be constructive in the long run, especially for someone just starting out betting. Right, I have my first bet...
BET 1 1 Roddick v Berdych (Laying Tomas Berdych @ 4.64) 2 Russell v Querrey (Laying Michael Russell @ 3.77) 3 Stockport v Colchester (Laying Stockport @ 5.52) £10 @ 2.12 for £10.64 (after com) 1. Roddick is in good form winning the last round in straight sets, whilst also being in good form against Berdych in the past. 2. Querrey is 2-0 on hard surface against Russel beating him convincingly both times round. This is a risky one but I think he'll get it. 3. Stockport are 16 without a win now, winning only 1 at home this season I think (?) Have a few injuries whereas Colchester have almost every player fit. |

I may regret this bet, but Ive gone for it because I wanted to get a bet in before the end of the weekend. Im reasonably confident about it.
BET 2 1 Wakefield v Leeds (Backing Leeds Rhinos @ 1.37) 2 Braga v Maritimo (Laying Maritimo @ 8.73) 3 Bordeaux v St Etienne (Laying St Etienne @ 10.92) 4 Wasps v Sale (Laying Sale Sharks @ 4.14) £20.64 @ 2.26 for £24.71 (after com) 1. Leeds Rhinos are the better team here and should perform well. 2. Braga are unbeaten at home with 8 wins and 1 draw, they should hold off Maritimo. 3. Bordeaux have been in poor form after xmas but they are expected to pick themselves up and kick on now. 4. This one will be tight but London Wasps have got their captain back and a lot of players return from injury. |

I like how you give reasoning rather than the usual threads with 'gut instinct' bets, or short odds (read Schalke) bets.

Thanks, the leeds bet isn't going too well. Auntie has just been rushed to hospital so it's the last of my worries though. Hope they both pull through!

I backed 1-1 £10 as the odds allowed you to lay the draw for a profit, but the goal was scored as I went to do it. If you back something for £10 @ 1.1 and lay it for £10 at 1.09 you can't lose money but can win some. |

As for my Auntie, she's suffered her 2nd heart attack in as many months, it's thought it's because she went back to work too soon, hopefully now she has a second chance she'll be a little more patient. |
