I read through & join in with some of the threads on here. When I am waiting on a result or whatever. There are people on here that bet big & there some that bet small.Generally everyone is friendly & also everyone seems to help each other with idea's & there view on how it can be done.
I sort of liken it to some of the banter that you used to get in the betting shops & now dont.So my point is why you get people sniping & taking the mickey out of i.e having 50p on a football bet.The others all moan about it's not like it was with great debate etc. What's that all about,I dont get it.What are people who want to save the planet or talk Rocket Science doing in a betting forum.Surely this is here to encourage chit-chat & banter about having a punt.
Some stuff & ideas are maybe abit wide of the mark. But surely anyone who gambles starts out the day with big ideas. Also at the end of most days it's back to the drawing board. So I say long live all these weird & wonderful threads on betfair. For all there good & bad points. The reason that I'm om Betfair & not one of the faceless more or less the same bookies is because of stuff like this forum.
One thing you can say positive about Betfair is that stuff like this makes it a little more interesting than most.

I don't think anyone has a problem with the bet sizing of various threads at the moment, I imagine the problem lies when the same folks post thread after thread after thread along the same lines, have years of good advice from some of the top gamblers in the country and STILL just reproduce the exact same crap a few months later.

Sort of agree with you,but there isn't a limit to the amount of threads that you can have on this site.I agree that there are some strange idea's etc.But if something is rubbish or crackpot or boring.I just chose to not read it.I also find that the optimism etc is pretty good & inspiring at times. On top of all of that, there are some really clever people on here who share there idea's & I for one have learnt quite alot in the few weeks that I have been reading up on here.I would love to think that I could operate like some of the folks on here.I almost certainly wont,as I just love the risk of a decent punt. But the fact remains that if you can take some of the good idea's & sort of filter out the bull then it certainly is a good website to keep an eye on.It is as I have said all about having a bet etc.

Another major point that I have found is that recording your bets on a thread & discussing the why's & wherefores etc,has in a matter of day's given me alot more discipline than I have ever had.I'ts early days for me.But I am going to be punting for my days,I love it & trying a new way of approach isn't going to hurt. With it being different makes it fun as well.As I said before it's just banter like the days of the betting shop stuff.I'm rambling now,but I aren't going to hurt anyone by it & surely if you ndont like it or you think I'm a plonker then just ignore me & I'll go away.

Again, if it were one thread per person or even a handful that's fine.

Some of the people that get ridiculed have literally dozens of threads where they restart if they lose rather than keeping it all in one or two places.

Even that would be understandable if each thread were a seperate approach but when the same thing just gets reborn under the disguise of "This time i'll be using five banks instead of three" it becomes a little tedious.

I'm all for free speech, I use (abuse?) that right as much as anyone on this site to spout my own brand of waffle. I just think that with only 150 threads or whatever per page, it would be more fun for everyone if people tried to keep their blog thoughts in as few threads as possible so they're easier to dodge if someone wants to elect not to read them.

Totally agree when you say it like that. But your always going to get more chaff than hay anywhere. But I love to absorve new ideas & I will read or listen forever to stuff that interests me.I sort of filter the dodgy stuff out & retain the good.Having agreed with you on your points of view, surely if you are an,lets say investor on this site you agree that there are some very intellegent & canny people on here as well. That's one of the great things about the net.I for one have mostly taken good stuff from having an interest on here.

Don't knock it. I figure that the quality of posts equals the quality of the punting and this is an exchange innit.. :)

I can't understand why Betfair didn't create a Blog forum where folk can start threads for their new systems etc without smashing up the other forums.

Having a separate forum for "proofed" challenges would be an excellent ideas. At the very least it would keep all the would-be tipsters in one place.

That makes sense BF,my major point though was some of these folks just seem to want to snipe & be nasty etc.The other is that I have found that recording on here does help alittle with the discipline for sure.
I agree that there are alot of dodgy threads on here,I just chose to not read them. That special section idea sounds like a great idea. Things like the thread of Craigyboy ie though are great to follow & I dont know about you but I get really into someone like him doing the business etc(pardon the pun). There is lots of dross, but also alot of good judges from whom we all may learn alittle.

It seems the logical step to take.
