Does seem out of order and looks like they're protecting a bot but could be that betfair f*cjed up when setting up the market. Alot of bots work from the selectionID's which don't change rather than the name. Possible that betfair set up the account with Castleford's name listed against the selectionID for the draw.
You'll never know unless betfair tell you why they voided the market

I don't think betfair would void a market under these cicumstance to protect an average bot user as all standard market options were available/visable on the web interface and its just sloppy programming by the bot designer not to check and account for variations in the display order.
The only legitimate reason for voiding the bets would be if 'selectionid' did not correlate with the displayed selection on the web interface.( I.E. if a user bet on a draw and it actually registered the bet as a win.)
So if its not the only legitmate reason then I think it quite possible that betfair were on the other end of the bets, not a bot/punter.
As a foot note, In the horse racing market the order of the horses can change 2 or 3 times in the 30 minute run up to the off, and the getMarket/getMarketPricesCompressed order will be out of sync.

Seems wholly unfair that BF voided this bet. Everything was there home, away, draw! Malformed my ar se. Who are they protecting? Someones mate? their own bot? Fishy.

The chances that the API interface gave out a mismatching selectionId/SelectionName are significantly large enough to make it a definite possibilty. And if so, it would be a legitimate reason to void the market for the 'Malformed' reasons given.

If that is the case then BF should have at least put some effort into explaining exactly what has happened. They didn't even mail the guy, just removed his bets and betting history!
I still think as a goodwill jesture they should take the loss and learn a lesson in customer service.

Quote from blog Now, if Betfair had e-mailed me to explain the situation, I probably would not have been bothered. If it was a genuine error, then fair enough. It is the fact that they unilaterally voided a market which they did not communicate to me which really**es me off
Maybe he emailed them first?
