Can anyone help me with an Excel query....unfortunately i only know the basics and need to know how i would change a column of a couple of hundred figures by dividing those individual figures by the same number....obviously i'd like to divide each figure in the column by the same number but naturally i would like to do it in a batch....i'd appreciate any help i can get. Cheers!

If you have a column from a1 to a100 and you want to divide by 37

type into b1 (or whatever box is to the right of the top your column

=a1/37

then ctrl-c that (or right click copy), highlight b2 to b100 and paste it.

If you wanted to be able to change the 37 then type the number you want into a cell, say c1 for now but any is fine...

repeat as above , but instead of =a1/37 put a1/$c$1

The dollar signs stop the cell changing, so it'll always use the number in the same cell (while the a1 will change to a2, a3, a4 as appropriate, as that's what you want to happen.

Sorry my explanation is a bit waffley, if you just do it, it'll make more sense as you go along I think.
