I knew I'd get an answer like that... I'm currently making money, but have too many ups and downs. Trying to change my tactics and try to keep a more steady progress. All comes down to the stakes I know, which currently is 1-10% on my behalf.

A sensible goal depends on how many events you're betting on and what your average edge on each one is. Not sure how you're expecting to get a sensible answer from strangers who don't know those things.
My advice would be to look back at previous bets and see what your average percentage profit (after commission) is. If it's negative, give up. If it's positive, work out how much profit that equates to per event, assuming you stake sensibly at all times, and use that to work out a target for the next six months.
For example, suppose you think it's reasonable to bet £10 at a time. You're betting on 120 markets a month, and your stats show your average profit after commission is 1.2%. Then realistically you can expect to make about £15 per month. If you set your target any higher than that you'll be forcing yourself to overstake and will pay the price in the long term.
Of course, your average profit may be much higher or lower than 1.2% - that's why you need to take a hard look at your own performance.

Looking at your past is the past.If you are on a profitable system it shows up quickly.Mistakes can be made but also big profits. There is no definite rule to argue one is more profitible than another but caution will limit both profit and loss. Therefore it really depends on your strike rate.If you can quantify it then you have a starting point and can build around that but it is important to max you gains and this Is your advantage as the reverse is true if you do not when you hit the habitual loosing run your bank will not be able to sustain it.Know your markets.Strike when conditions are right for you.Leave it alone if not.

Good shout Marky, about £4000 would be reasonable, 1% increase per day compound. But anything above £500 is also good. The main point here I think, is this a "can I make it pay and give up my job" or "thats a nice bit of extra bunce to take the wife and kids away once in a while"
