I heard somewhere that there is people betting in-play directly in the stadium (like the courtsiders in tennis).
I didn't follow these markets in the past but in yr opinion Is it true?
Is there enough liquidity in these markets in-play?

liquidity would be a major issue. It would cost them more for the ticket and drinks and food than they could steal from the market ;)

plenty of liquidity in swimming and water polo, but... sheeeesh keep it a secret.

There's loads of liquidity in unmanaged markets in-play. What's your point?
Report modk January 28, 2010 1:52 PM GMT
Not much money in the games I've seen (not many). There's an eight second countdown providing some protection to those who leave money up.

My point is that in theory I think it is incredible how much money can be done staying at the stadium.
Also considering the 8 seconds you have the advantage to watch the match live.
That's what I mean

I dont agree about the advantage. Anyone sitting at home leaving their money up whilst listening on local radio isnt gonna get hoovered. Radio is only 2-3 seconds behind the ground.

But, yes there are people who put money up and probably wait for news on Sky Sports or other online service and they will get burnt

Carsten19 is that you?

I'm not saying that it is a certainty.
I'm just asking to people more expert than me if it can be true what I heard in a forum.
That's all.
Also I am asking bcs I know personally 2 italian tennis courtsiders that really won more than 2 million euro (travelling the world, with a lot of sacrifices and a lot of expenses);
and I wondered if all this could be applied to this unmanaged markets

100% true

Are we just talking about football then?
Report buzzer January 28, 2010 2:43 PM GMT
I presumed he was talking about the, fairly, new unmanaged in play football markets where liquidity is sparse to say the least.

He's not?

But there will still be people randomly placing bets, without fast information, and there will even be those who don't cancel their bets at all. This money will be hoovered.
