Google Chrome constantly going back to home page issue

With Google chrome I often get a delay then the "Oops this link appears to be broken" message and then on refresh it's OK. IE keeps logging me out of Betfair. Firefox is fine.

I cannot help except to say the Chrome has been solid for me.

did u try deleting cookies and temp files.........

I find Chrome very glitchy too.

Click in the odds box and the figure enters in the amount box (wtf)

Also going to homepage when I click a bit too furiously. Lightning fast but not too stable. I'm thinking of going back to Firefox

Yes, if I type the numbers in very slowly then that can help. It is also fine for most of the day but once it goes kaput then it becomes useless.

I have just deleted temp files, cookies, etc and I'll see if that helps. So thank you to the forumite who gave that advice.

Thank you too to the others who confirmed they had no problem. It is a better browser than Firefox and IE so I'm hoping the tidying up works.

Yes, I'm running them in tandem, but I like to have my Oddschecker in the tab next to the Betfair tab as my Oddschecker is in order so that I can go back and forward between the markets I'm interested in. I could also open all the markets on Oddschecker in chronological order but this is just duplicating work.

That may not make sense.

Anyway, clearing cookies, etc has not worked as I've just tried to place a bet and I've been taken back to the homepage.

I did contact Betfair again and they said they were aware of a few issues but have no**yet. They suggested I use Firefox or IE.

Betfair told me that they don't support Chrome. Which on reflection may be a good thing as that is the one that works best for me. Sad but true.



When you have fixed your problems, may I commend using two screens? That really is handy when comparing oddschecker, the purple place and betfair. I need 3 really.

It was suggested to me a short while ago that I should buy a big tv screen and hang it on the wall so I can see live tv and see betfair, oddschecker and purple images on the same screen as it would save juggling the placing of computer screens with the tv. I am pondering that. ;)

I have two issues:

1) On some markets, the 'My Bets' screen freezes and never opens (or maybe opens after a few minutes). Tends to be when I have a lot of matched bets on a wide variety of odds and outcomes

2) This is a more frequent screw-up. When looking at 'My Bets' in the consolidated view, it will often show a matched stake in the wrong odds. e.g. if I've had £10 matched at 2.00 and £15 matched at 2.10 then it sometimes shows £25 matched at 2.00 in the consolidated view.

Why do you ask?

I asked because I use Firefox too. I haven't the issues you mentioned.

The only caveat for me is that Firefox doesn't make use of quadcore capabilities (the new version will, but it's not out until 2011).

I use six screens and sometimes have up to 60 tabs open showing different Betfair markets. This is roughly the limit, anything higher than this and firefox is likely to crash. Even as it stands, I need to close my browser down every 2-3 hours, because it will crash eventually anyway due to memory leak.

Chrome is better in this respect, but it hasn't always worked properly for me, that's why I'm sticking to Firefox. IE isn't even a contender at the moment, way too heavy.

When the new version of Firefox comes out, I will look at using nine screens, and on weekends I'll be able to have even more markets open at the same time. Looking forward to it!

I have one laptop with virtually no add-ons or fancy bits installed. It's as simple as simple can be, yet I can't get one browser to adequately work on here. I have no problems with any other site and trade the stock market hassle-free through my laptop, although that's not browser-based.

I am a technophobe though. The thought of 6 screens fills me with both ambition and fear!
