This hasn't affected me yet but I can see that if I am successful (and don't we all want to bet successfully) it may hsve an undesirable impact on me in the future. Can anyone explain how BF can possibly justify this policy? I have read as much as I could find on the topic and I am still in the dark!! Can anyone throw any light on this issue? Why do we accept such unfair changes without any objection!!

Why are you worring about something you have no control over and does not affect you?
Far better use of energy to concentrate on areas of your life you have control or more likely infulence over.
Good luck with your betting, concentrate on trying to get that edge needed to generate a healthy profit.
Calm down, smile, enjoy life.

Betfairs justification for introducing the Premium Charge can be found in the Live Chat Session-Wednesday 10 September thread located in the Forum Chat section of the forum. Whether you, I or others agree with the justification provided is irrelevant to your query.

Why do we accept such unfair changes without any objection!!

Few premium charges payers (or potential premium charge payers) accepted the charges/alterations without objection. There has been a multitude of threads objecting to the Premium Charge, most of which can be retrieved using one of the forum search facilities.

Many of the people that have been subject to the premium charge continue to use Betfair for some or all of their betting because there is currently no viable alternative for them. These people presumably pragmatically concluded that, if they could continue to operate profitably despite the charge, it is preferable to pay approximately 20% on £x profit than 5% on £0.1x profit elsewhere.

Very simply, anti, betfair noticed that some users were paying a small amount of their profit back in commission compared to the others. The pc sets a minimum amount that everyone has to pay.

Hovver your cursor over the username. It is not when you started on betfair but when the account was opened, which probably explains the anomoly i.e. account opened in 2006 but didn't choose a forum name until more recently.

Opening an account and then a year or so to get around to looking and contributing to the forums is probably an attribute. ;)
