I am trying to create a formula which enables me to do 2 things.

1 Use a different calc depending on the cell having a positive or negative value.

2 Return the results in a Positive format i.e no minus numbers.

For example cell A1 would be -80
Cell A2 would be 60
Cell A3 30

In Cells B1,B2,B3 etc I need to insert my formula

For ease of reference If the figures in column A are Minus, I need to divide by 2 if the figures are positive I need to divide by 3

So in my above example I would end up with :-

B1 = 40 (-80/2) = -40 returned as a positive number = 40
B2 = 20 (60/2) = 20
B3 = 10 (30/3) = 10

Any help would be appreciated

Without doing it for myself I can't remember the actual text but should be something like IF A10, and IF A1 0 then...

Sorry that looks like nonsense.

Should read A1 less than 0 and A1 greater than 0

Using your example:
=ABS(IF(B10,B1/2, B1/3))
and fill down.

You need:

If cell value "greater" than zero then cell divided by three. If cell value is less than zero then cell value divided by minus two. (dividing a negative, by a negative will give you the positive you require).

Hope have made it clear

Or you could just use the absolute value function....
