Over the years ive progressed from being lucky with small bets on soccer and horseracing.. then it got bigger and bigger and things started to conspire against me on this site because I got greedy and lost discipline.

Has betfair improved your finances?? Could you give it up in the morning?

Be honest!

Don't use betfair as a way to gain financially. But would obviously hope i did win.

I just use it to have a bit of fun whilst watching the sport on telly kinda adds something when money is riding on.

Sounds like you did well to start with, then the correction set in, as it does, unless your strategy is sound. Don't blame lack of discipline, that's kidding yourself.

I would say that in the vast majority of cases it's not possible to tell whether someone has a gambling problem unless they start losing money. In some cases it can still have a negative effect on someone's life even if they win, but usually the problem stems from losing money, not giving up and the cycle of problems that result from this behaviour.

So if you're making money, realize that whatever you are doing may not work forever. If your profits start to diminish or disappear completely and you compensate for this by taking on more risk than you did before, this is a big warning that things are probably going to start falling apart.

It has recently, this year and last. No reason to give it up, as I'm currently making money. Not sure if I'm in lifetime profit yet, don't have adequate records.
