Hi - i want to count the number of races this season from a traditional formline e.g 006-111 (it's a Mark Prescott horse) would return 3
I can think of adding a column then use text to columns, delimited, using - as the delimiter
From the resulting column i can use =Len(a1) should give the correct result.
Is there a one-step solution?
On a subnote wouldnt it be better to denote a break of say 90 days. Now that we have all year round racing most often the numbers of runs into a traditional season is irrelevant for analysis.

(The find command) seems like you know what you're doing, and It's not a command I've used so I'll let you puzzle it out from there :D, pretty sure that with the correct +1 or -1 you'll get what you need. |

Maybe the example was not great being in the middle .. i would want 7089-25 to return as 2. Using FIND it would be 4 |

can you use len minus find? or len minus find+1 maybe
