** bags that beat the clock should be charged at least 90% PC. These guys cannot loose unless they are very stupid. Its the equivalent of been able to see everyone's hole cards in poker!

So your solution to anyone beating the clock is to give Betfair 90% of the proceeds of it.

Are you Andrew Black?

twice today I've cancelled lay positions on football after a goal is scored only to see them matched when the market comes back.

never happened before

Can someone explain what you mean by Beating the Clock?

Thanks
Report TameTheTiger January 17, 2010 9:00 PM GMT
Which matches ?
Report beetle January 17, 2010 9:01 PM GMT
both African Nations
Report beetle January 17, 2010 9:02 PM GMT
fortunately I was laying back but on both matches would have won considerably more

Yes and use the money to recruit more consistent losers rather than tax risk takers and liquidity providers.

on both occasions my final position was not shown on the Suspended screen but the bets were matched
Report Blue eyes January 17, 2010 9:22 PM GMT
This isn't beating the clock. This is the pictures being behind by more that the delay. It is happening on Sky for Premier League and Championship matches too, so beware.

I've spoken to Betfair about it and they are looking at it I think.

Thats beating the clock
Report The Magician (100) January 17, 2010 9:29 PM GMT
sounds like these markets are managed?

correct? ie does befair suspend when goals occur?

if they do and the suspend - then they have let you down

1) ask then to cancel the bet
2) if they dont get the Gambling comission top do so
Report beetle January 17, 2010 9:32 PM GMT
How do you mean managed?

If my position isn't shown on the suspended screen are you saying that Betfair took it?
Report The Magician (100) January 17, 2010 9:41 PM GMT
no

do the rules of the market indicate that the market is managed?

ie do betfair suspend/then reopen the market after a goal is scored...

if they do... and you bet is getting matched, just before the suspend but after the goal.

then they will probably void the bet - and if they dont void the bet the GC will.

what price where you offering? where you best price and just getting matched at market levels - or where you away form the markets and getting hoovered....

you need to establish these facts clearly in advance... but, you have a case... if you where away form the market...

at market will be harder to prove hoovering
Report beetle January 17, 2010 9:47 PM GMT
it was an in play African Nations match, of course it was managed and Yes I was front of queue

Im not bothered about the money it was peanuts in the whole match but my post was to highlight a potential issue thats all
