General Betting

Hi, I'm just looking around at the moment to see what sort of methods most people use to make money on Betfair. Has anyone got links to any websites that give details of the sort of things that can be profitable. I'm just betting on football at the moment and do okay but if someone can point me in the right direction. I use to play poker profitably but I'm looking to move into more things now.
I assume all the people selling ebooks with systems to make money are a bit pointless and you could probably find any of the information for free anyway, is it still worth paying a few quid to get this information easily rather than spending a few weeks reading up though? Do any of them at least have the right idea, is there anything about that anyone could suggest to get me started.

The few people (relatively speaking) who show a profit betting are not likely to tell anyone of their method(s) and I think that is understandable.

Kenilworth is 100% correct. Quite often threads will appear discussing winning methods, but in reality nobody gives anything away. People just wait to see what others might be saying.
If you want an edge you'll have to find your own path. There is no substitute for hard work. It took me two years of reading/research and thinking and thinking. All of a sudden one day it all happened and over the course of a couple of weeks I was able to put my thoughts together in a cohesive way and a friend of mine sorted out the spreadsheets & databases that I needed. Don't expect any revelations to happen overnight. If it was easy they'd all be winning and the returns would fall. Decide the area that you want to concentrate on and get to work. It's the only way. |

The house edge is near zero, but there is still a minuscule house edge! Even with a zero house edge, how can you possible expect to make a long term profit by anything other than luck?!?!?!? |
