As I am on one of my very few vists to the forums, on this special day, when many put new plans into action, I have decided to pass on some very sound advice passed on by Professor Igor Chuckusafiver of Kiev University to his class of 58:
"Never bet on anything that breathes, or is under the control of anything that breathes!"
My guess is that if all BetFairians had followed this advice a large majority would be a lot better off.
My sister's ex husband was a very successful investment manager. Incredible advice from him through the nineties.
My sister was was training to get onto the Canadian Olympic Equestrian team. Had a really expensive horse brought to Canada from Germany. Incredible pedigree, etc. Suffered from attention defecit. Would get bored half way through the routines. Horse psychologists, a flight from Canada to a training center in Germany....then Switzerland.......home to Canada....bring on the horse whisperer.....sisters hopes of the olympics dashed.
I was visiting them and my brother-in-law was sharing a bottle with me late at night one time. As we sat in the midnight silence, he leaned over, topped up our glasses, raised his to mine and offered words of wisdom;
"Never invest in anything that eats while you're asleep"
Excellent advice, I say.
