i remember reading a system on here ages ago. i think it was something to do with backing 3yo's in in handicaps in january, when they are racing against older horses. i can't remember the exact system.
6yo in Selling Stakes System: Back 6yo's in middle and long distance selling stakes in January. (Works best with contenders who are within the first three in the betting) Date created: 04-Jan-02 Initial Results: 62% strike rate, 112% profit
Why does it work?: Because of a flaw in the weight for age scale. On Jan 1st all horses are one year older. In this month there are peculiarities in certain stakes races which creates biases to certain age groups. 6yo's in selling stakes are one such advantaged group.
i got the january bit right anyway.

i just run this thru raceform interactive and although the results weren't as spectacular as the sample you posted .. it does show a profi since 2003, but you said works best with middle to long distance, whereas i tried over 7f and below 8f as seperate queries and both showed healthy profit.. i stipulated sp as being less than 7/1
