Morrigan 20 Dec 14:33 I didn't help. I ridiculed you.
I like the cut of Morrigans jib.
Canbet is an aussie firm innit? On the spot with some prices and some not. When I am desperate i look to them for guidance on obscure southern hemisphere markets. But Aussie firms have strict rools and can be even more pedantic than the UK ones.

Mr Ed 21 Dec 00:37 Canbet are vest avoided a present. Looking a bit dodgy.
You will need to back that up or ask betfair to pull your comment. Unless of course you are happy to live in a cardboard box.

They've been taken over a few months ago by a shady indonesian or otherwise company.
They've gone from an A at SBR to a C in the last few months.
They've started voiding things, they've changed bonus conditions retrospectively - look on SBR.
They've also starting slowpaying a little, which does not bode well for the future.
They lost about $9m aus last year, and were sold for a mere $1m aus to aforementioned shady investors.
I wouldn't be putting any large sums of money there at the mo - I suspect this is where Mr Ed is coming from.

As they are regulated by the UK Gambling Commission there will be nothing "dodgy" about them,It's not like they are anything to do with the mafia or anything like that !!http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-racing/gambling-commission-suspend-paradise
There appear to be some brave people about who think they are exempt from the libel laws. Maybe it is not so surprising when they think that they are anonymous behind their computer screens.

The money there will be ring fenced so deposits will be safe (such as when portland bet went under, those were the days ;) ). Odds used to be really good here before the financial problems.

Would also be interested to see any posts that refer to ring fenced funds. I had to withdraw a serious amount of money from them a couple of weeks ago, and to say they gave it the "old runaround" would be nothing more than completely true.

Canbet is operated by IASbet (known also as International All Sports) and is the biggest online bookmaker in Australia. Mark Read runs IAS and is without a doubt the biggest bookmaker here, he is also a very astute punter.
They never limit you or close accounts and are probably the only bookies to have the balls to take on winning punters, or libellous comments ;)

Never limit - you must be having a laugh.

This is for the benefit of trable underscore in particular and everyone in general on here.
Treble, I previously laboured under the same belief regarding onus of proof in libel cases. I wrote some comments on a thread on here and an experienced journalist I know was kind enough to point out to me it was not wise to leave yourself open to libel actions by making such comments, as the onus of proof is on the accusor and not the accused. That is, if you write something on here and you are sued for libel, the onus will be on you to prove the truth in what you have written.
I make no judgement here as to whether anyone on this thread has libelled anybody else. And I personally would not be depositing any money I was not prepared to risk losing cold with Canbet as matters stand.
Below is a link to an article on libel laws in the UK and how they affect journalism that should give credence to what I have written here.
