I often see people betting '5 points' etc of their bank

My question is say I have £2000 in my betfair account, what would that equate to in points, obviously I would choose this, but when using points for a staking system, how many points do ppl generally start with?

Probably an idiot question I know, but just want to get an idea, cheers.

It's really only for people who are paper trading or just don't like ( reasonably enough) to tell people their actual £ stakes .

Or for Professional Tipsters in newspapers.

Depends how you bet really. Are you a numbers person? Do you like to stake the same amount on every bet?

I work off around about the same amount off my laser card for gambling, but only keep around 400ish a day in Betfair cause my max bet is €300 so i dont need anymore you know.

I dont have a points system really just generally like to feel my way into the bet/staking. Depends on the person really. You could go 5% of bank per bet, but some people live and die by %'s and stat's, other dont.

doyler I'm exactly the same, always go on feel more than numbers. I think though, after a couple of years dabbling, I now think (this season) I'm pretty good at spotting value and having a feel for the right or wrong price. Just maybe need some kind of staking system in place, 5% max per bet you think?
