not at all.
I've just spent the last few weeks wondering whether I should be spending more time playing poker or just sticking to betfair. The last 48 hours have confirmed that there's still alot of money to be made and the reasons why! |

SJ. Your post makes no sense. One guy's opinion doesn't change the market.

I don't understand what you are saying?
Although I can make a calculation on what I believe the odds should be, I'm also prepared to assume that I will never have all the informaiton required to make a full evaluation of the situation. So all i can do is use the information to available to me. This leads me to belive that some markets are priced 'fairly' (as lots of money on one event would suggest that lots of punters have the information to make that decision) and therefore there is little value betting or laying on either outcome (as the odds repesent the correct chances of that event happening'). What I've seen in the last 48 hours is that some poeple (whether it's 2 of them or 2000), are prepared to ignore certain peices of information just because they 'fancy' one team more than the other. It just confirms to me that the odds aren't nessasarily a true repesentation of the overall event happening and therefore there is still value in betting on a tight market if i beleive that event will happen. I knew this sort of thing happens with England games and teams like Man U and Chelsea, but I believed this was because there was simply more information on hand to make an educated desicion. My example clearly proves to me that even if the information is staring you in the face, some people will choose to ignore it. Basically, people are betting with their heart - which suits me fine! |

Safebet Jimmer 18 Dec 13:16
Last night there was a guy who insisted that Everton would beat Bate 7-0 or 8-0 even though Everton was putting out a team of 13yr olds. He then wondered why they lost why they lost. At half time, Everton hadn't even had a decent chance to score, yet he was still on about betting more money on them to win. And today there's been around 3,000 posts from people talking about Liverpools chances of winning the Champions League. Even worse, as soon as they found out they weren't in the Champions League they start moaning about it! People like this feed my family f f s post up a few of these bets that have fed your family, |

What type of bets do you want me to post?
|
|
By:
something relevant to your initial posting, per chance

Well, since Jimmer doesn't even mention the odds let alone why they represent good value I reckon it is quite a 'safbet' that gambling does not feed his family. :p

Not a lot to report there though. I bet 2 goals or more in the Everton game before KO and layed it 15 minutes into the game when niether team looked up for it, for a small loss. Then later on I bet small on 1 goal or more just before Bate went 0-1 up for a small profit.
Would of taken some more money on the Everton game, but it was all tied up in the Lazio game. I would of taken odds on Liverpool winning the Champions League today, (which I assume was already 1,000 to 1) but didn't bother looking as I didn't realise people still wanted to bet on them. Don't get me wrong, this ain't a full time job or nothing, but it pays for a few meals out, holidays and food shopping a fwe times a month. |

What odds do you want catfloppo?
I bet on 2 goals or more at 1.37, then layed it for a loss at 1.5, I then layed 1 goal or more at 1.16 and bet on it at 1.24 for a small win. When I looked before KO when the Evertonioan thought they were gonna score 7 or 8, the "Any Unquoted" market was around 12 and the 7 goals or more market was 42. However, before the game, I thought Everton could score that much, so was never gonna lay that. 30 minutes into the game and eveton without a decent chance at goal and this guy was still talking about how good Everton looked, my money was tied up on the lazio game. |

Unsure.
That's hard to evaluate when you essentually have a lot of incomplete information. Everton had already qualified and I had no idea how good their school boys were. If it was the Arsenal U18's team, it would be a whole different story. |

This is a game that Moyes took the extraordinary decison to name his team 24hours before kick off as he was playing the reserves/youth team as it was a dead rubber. He didnt want everton fans turning up on the day paying 25 quid and not seeing the full team, it had something like 5 debutants, 7 teenagers and a 16yr old
