There is a good bloke here that gives tax advice for free. I wil recall his name shortly.
By:
if you have even a half decent accountant he should be able to deal with them, the trouble is you have already agreed to an amount, if you dont pay they will prob take you to court for it.
By:
It is on the tip of my tongue. He even uses a crystal ball when providing free advice.
By:

By:
im not an expert mate, just been self employed for years, but i know someone who got into a spot like you with the vat man and the tax man and they hounded him almost made him close his businesss, i would try every route, plead poverty etc but you wan to get your accountant to deal with it really

I'm a tax adviser.
If they have assessed you on the past earnings (you should have had a formal assessment) then you cannot appeal this and the amount you owe is fixed (sorry). The assessment you will have will set out the amount of tax, interest and penalties. The only hope is if you demonstrate that your payments could make you stop trading altogether. In which case they could take reduced payments but they would also look at what other assets you have in the event that you went bankrupt. Hope this helps |

Isn't tax one of the few debts you can actually go to jail with if you don't pay it?
By:
cant be betting related they cant tax puntin winnings so ive heard, curley and vietch must love every minute of not payin tax to the greed
By:
i dont understand your bleating about paying a tax bill, JUST PAY IT
dont you understand where the tax goes? it pays for mps and assocites to watch porn films, and to get cushions for their homes, u should be thankful you are allowed the chance to contribute. Only last week their was the story of a millionaire Mp who needed their roof fixing at a cost o f20000, he had been snookered without tax bills on someone earning in a year less than the cost of his roof |

There is tax avoidance and tax evasion. What you did by not declaring for 6 years was evasion.
Hope this helps. |
By:
you are screwed, just pay the tax and be happy they didnt prosecute.
