General Betting

I'm thinking about trying to minimise my betting activities through Betfair and attempt to place my bets using local bookmakers.
I'm just after a little advice if possible regarding this.
I've been working on some ratings and compiling my own prices for a while now and am intending to use an oddschecker service to find the best prices available and then basically driving round to various shops in my area to place the bets. I realise there are some options that won't be available to me any more like trading but I'm happy to stick at value backing.
I'm a little worried that I won't be able to get decent stakes on when needed and also worried that I will struggle not being able to take the Betfair prices (although with comm and pc involved this may not be a major problem anymore).
What are your thoughts on this, is it feasible to bet the old fashioned/traditional way and not get involved with online accounts. I intend to use the internet to find the best prices but that's about it really, possibly a laptop with a mobile broadband so I can use it on the move.
Any advice or info please from people in the know?
Is this realistic or would it be foolish to dismiss the power of internet resourses for my betting activities?

Personally I won't dismiss the internet completely as it is very useful. But if this is the path you have chosen then i would get mobile broadband with a laptop or phone to counter any of the problems you stated you might face.

You need a push bike to go to the bookies because
1.) They will think you're skint mug loser 2.) It saves petrol increasing your profit margins ;-) Honestly! |
