Doesn't work for me. It is new though.

Mine still reads £0.00! Can't tell if it's updating :-(
By:
yes started updating automatically today.
Only noticed it after the crash this p.m. though. |
By:
was that really so important a thing to change
to make everything else so unstable for a day |
By:
Home Page looks a bit different too.
By:
Also if you press the backspace in the forum to go back to the previous page it brings up some weird grey screen.

This is something I've been asking them to introduce for well over a year. I too only noticed it after the crash yesterday, so if it had anything to do with then it's probably all my fault. Blame me!
It's a feature that a lot of people will find extremely usefu; knowing exactly how much you've got left to play with before grabbing a price that you think looks good. No need to be thwarted by that Insufficient Funds message any more because most ofl your money's already committed. Very often by the time you've refreshed to see how much you've got left, the price has gone. Unfortunately it only seems to work with the current tab/window. If, like me, you tend to have up to about 10 tabs open for different markets then you still have to refresh the total funds available for each one before placing a bet. So - great if you only use one window. No change if you use multiple tabs/windows. |
By:
For me it seems to work when I place a bet but not always when I go "all green" thereby removing the liability. Maybe it depends on its mood.
By:
Maybe they can't program at BF.
By:
Doesn't seem to be doing it now :|
By:
does the same on the purple site
By:
also seems to update when you tick and untick the box to reveal available funds
By:
would anyone recommend , or dissuade , me from buying an ipod touch to access betfair via wifi - thanks in advance
By:
This feature is really annoying as you can't hit refresh to see if something's been recently settled or not, so you have no idea if you're gambling with money that you've just been paid out or not.
Just means I'll have to have the account statement open, yet another window on my already overloaded computer. |
By:
I like the new feature, but would prefer if it worked every time, whether the available balance was changing by placing a bet, getting one matched, or a market being settled.
By:
If there was a quick way of telling when markets were settled it would be fine.
Maybe some info bar that says "blah blah settled, account credited/debited with x" would solve this. As it is, there's no quick way anymore and you could soon be overstaking because you're betting using money you think isn't due to be settled for a while. |
By:
Don't like it either.
When viewing other webpages, looking at form or whatever the refresh highlights the page again and you get moved back to the betfair page. Don't know if problem related but only happened after this change. Frustrating. |
By:
i agree lori
preferred it the old way plus it still seems unstable since yesterday 4 or 5 little things seem to be not working as quickly |
By:
Very unstable :-(
By:
terrible feature - sites been running like sh1te ever since
just deposit more money if you're that worried about available funds ffs |
By:
This is something I've been asking them to introduce for well over a year
Nobody should be asking them for new features. They can't program ffs! Every upgrade is a downgrade. |
By:
it seems to have got worse today
By:
Logout is weird, every time a new adventure.

'Introduce' was the wrong word to use. It was more a case of asking them to get the already existing feature to work properly.
It says 'Total available' but never shows the correct figure! If you've got multiple windows/tabs open they all give a different figure, which is no use to anyone. You just need to see what the Total Available is at any given moment without having constantly to keep refreshing it. Whenever you withdraw money it automatically adjusts the Total Available so why can't it do it every time money is committed or released. It's still not working perfectly unfortunately, but hopefully they'll get it sorted. By the way, it was only one of a number of things they did with the upgrade, so who knows which one caused the problems. They're always upgrading and there are always problems. Happens every time. |

Is anyone finding bet placement a little slower since the ugrade?
By:
Difficult to say. It's been so slow for such a long time that it's hard to notice any difference one way or the other.
By:
Looks like there's another one on the way next week:
Planned Upgrade on Tuesday 1st December 2009 03:00 (GMT) 11:00 (GMT) Please be aware that there is planned maintenance taking place on Tuesday 1st Dec from 03:00am 10:00am, during which time ALL Betfair Products and Services will be unavailable. Tuesday afternoon should be fun! |
By:
Will have to fund the Purple place Monday night then.

Is anyone finding bet placement a little slower since the ugrade? Joel, mine was until I deleted files, cookies etc through control panel and did a full restart |
By:
Checking the available balance is a true bottleneck, so updating it more often on the screen could have a very bad effect on site performance.
By:
Site has been sh1te last two days.
By:
wouldnt be at all surprised if the site goes teets-oop this afternoon with footy/rubgy/tennis all happening simultaneously
Quack quack for me till after the upgrade |
By:
This is f**king bullsh1t. The page is constantly refreshing and processing, so when you think you're typing something you're not at all.
ROLL BACK BETFAIR FFS |
By:
Inner city, that's an intermittently recurring problem that's been going on for many months. Nothing to do with the upgrade, but I have to agree I wish they'd**it.
