Hello

I'm trying to do the following in one cell for recording a result, is it possible or do I have to break it down into three cells and record the result in another cell.

=IF((K2L2,1,"")(IF(K2L2,2,"")(if(k2=l2,3,""))

there's a fault in the above, but i'm not sure what it is.

It's a bit hard to see what you're trying to do, can you just describe in words what you want this bit of the formula to do:

=IF(K2L2,1,"")

=IF(K2L2,1,IF(K2L2,2,IF(K2=L2,3,"")))

Where it is K2(greaterthan)L2 and then K"(less than)L2. Assuming that is what you are trying to do

You could leave out the "" at the end as it isn't necessary.

Cheers to you both.

I didn't realise my original post missed out the Greater Than sign etc.

That's done the trick.
