If you've taken your 3.5M turnover elsewhere then presumably you'll get a hamper from them?

Goodness. they're all out. Did you ever get a trip out to the races on Betfair Jonny, or are they still snubbing you?
Most of the turnover went to B&Q and various local garden centres I think. It's not quite the same though, they don't let you recycle it and you get a sort of 10% rebate card thingy instead of a hamper; also my account manager now appears to be a spotty teenager called Wayne. To be fair though you can get sort of cardboard boxes and trays and I would guess that by arbing prices between B&Q and local nurseries it would be possible to build up a sizeable profit which could pay for some champers, so a DIY job would be possible. |

I was disappointed last xmas. The year I became a key account and got right down to 2% was the year bf scrapped hampers. I know I shouldn't be peeved but it felt as if I'd missed out on an important rite of passage...

2005 was the year of the playing cards at Betfair I think. By coincidence that was also my peak diary year, with an unparalleled score of 17 different ones.
Fred, I don't think it's coincidence that last year's lack of "hampers" - mostly these were that year's £50 list price F&M gift box option - came at the same time as the premium charge, probably some consultant pointed out to them that people on 2ish% are working so hard to keep at that level they'll do that whether you send them a freebie or not. I'd guess you're getting the odd corporate though? Actually, I'd forgotten when starting this thread that I was sent a timeform glossy book thing by Betfair a few weeks ago, so not altogether been a barren year. And some freebie Kempton tickets from 0ddschecker but that was just a sign up and get them jobbie. |

did you ever get a job at betfair?

yes timl, I agree most people on 2% will carry on regardless, for bf (and myself) there's much more sense in spending money on other customers, like bf have been doing.
Regarding hospitality, I've not been offered anything, despite being on 2% for a year, maybe there's more offers for losing key accounts or something? I'd be hard pressed to tell anybody what the benefits of being a key account are, I've not noticed any... |

Fred, ask your account manager if there are any BF sponsored events going on anywhere near you, usually there's something to go to.

I didn't get a hamper last year even though I was on 2% commission. Not sure they are doing them still.

I've still got a hankering for a bf fleece. I've been good this year santa.
