Tiger Woods is a massive 2.5 to win this week. how anyone can oppose him in this field is beyond me. 13 World Ranking places till you get to 2nd fav Geoff Ogilvy. Tiger played average last week for him and still managed a top 10 finish in a world golf championship event. he played awful the first 8 on sunday but when he got going on the 9th he was unstopable. he was making birdies for fun on the more difficult back 9. This course will suit Tiger as the fairways are Wide and fast. this means he will not have to take the driver out of the bag this week and play the course like he played Hoylake with 3 woods and irons off the tee. as you know he is without doubt the best iron player in the game and when he put's himself on the fairway he is deadly. is ability to shape the ball this week will be a big help as the pins can be tucked away in some difficult places and when he can send the ball way up into the air and land it soft will have a huge advantage over others this week as the greens are firm and bouncing. from what i have read short game is the key on the course putting/chipping. the great one is also probably the best up and downer off the ball in our modern time and it wouldn't suprise me if he was the best chipper and putter of the ball the game has ever seen. i have a feeling we will see the best of tiger this week as he has not won in a while and will wan't to set the record straight as his ability to close out a tournament is being questioned and thats why i can see him winning this with 4/5 shots to spare.

FYI , mascherano is one of the more respected posters on the golf forum and he has had some very good tips in the past and tipping Tiger like this now has only a downside. None will give you any credit for tipping a 6/4 winner , but you will get plenty of abuse if he doesn't win.
It's also impossible that he is ramping to lower Tiger's price to get out of a bad trade. Tiger's price has been on a decline since the market opened. |
