i always used 2003 and had all my documents saved as 2003 but in the last few months any time i open a document (that was created as 2003) i can "read only" because i dont have 2007.
i have to open a 2003 new document and then open my file from there.
is there anyway around having to do this the whole time?

your using 2007 now?
should be fully backwardly compatable. if your trying to open and edit a 2007 file using 2003 i think there is a download from microsoft that fixes it. |

Use (free) Open Office. It opens/writes MS Office 2003/2007 etc. It also use Open Document Format which is the international standard. MS do not.
MS Office 2007 when launched was incompatible with earlier versions. |

I deleted 2007 (the trial period)
It was too time consuming selecting what you want. Then downloaded 2000 Office "Keep it simple" |
