75/(odds-1) is your stake.
By:
EG: If odds are 4 then: your stake = 75/3 = 25

click lay. click "liability" in the bets box. type in 75, click ok

Thanks for that. I was just wondering why in betfair you just cannot type in liability £75 the way you can back for £75 but seems like you cannot?

Click the word "liability" and you can.

Hi Lori
Just tried that typed in liability £75 and showing total liability £181 |
By:
It changes the stake. The little number to the right of the £18x.xx would be the liability

Not sure why but does not do that for me?

Are you doing that? (Set the price to 1.15 just to match exactly what I have) |

Tried that it came up with liability £11.25?

Are you clicking the bullet point next to the liability word, or the word itself?
Click the bullet point first, then click the word, type 75 into the box that pops out, hit okay on that box and then it should put 500 into the "normal" betting box for you, with the circled 75 next to it |

Fantastic. Thats working perfect now I was not clicking on the word itself. Appreciate your help with this.

Does anyone know how I can lay to a set amount say £75. At the moment I am having to play about with the stakes until I find the exact amount for £75 liability. Yeah, I've often wondered about that. On the other site you can tap in your liability and they work out your stake. Betfair does nt. Example if you wanted to lose no more than say £100 on laying Brazil (vs England) you've got to phaff around with your stake. Tapping in £100 in the stake box gives you liability of £126. (at current odds of 2.26) Does nt matter if you click on payout or liability. Also it's impossible to do this accurately in-play unless you've got a bot. :( |

is there a quick formula for trading, say £100 bet then £200 for level stakes win or £300 for profit on new outcome, depending on price, what i mean is double original stake for lay or you triple it for win on new outcome.
bet 1 back £100 bet 2 lay it off £200 all level profits on all outcomes bet 3 lay it off £300 now no profit on original outcome or loss but all profit on new outcome. double stake for lay triple stake for new play and win |

I think this is what you mean?
for example, bet 100 @ 2.44 gives green profit 144.00 to lay the selection @ 1.7.... and to get equal profit, ADD TOGETHER the red and the green numbers (144 green, and 100 red), click on THE WORD 'payout', enter 244 in the pop-up box, and hit OK. This will then give a level profit of 43.52 near enough, with a stake of 143.52 on the lay of 1.7 . |
