£300 Bank - What would be a reasonable and realistic weekly profit to be made from this? Predominantly from laying fooball teams?

Don't want to go bust on my first bet by laying the lot!

thanks for any help.

After nearly 7 years on here, you have a bank of £300 and are looking for advice on the forum? Oh dear

thanks. I'm thinking just to pick 5 games during the course of the week - 2% of pot profit each bet would give £30 return (not taking account of comm) per week.

Could/should 300 pot return more or should I be happy with approx £100 per month profit? I'm thinking I'd like more! Naive and greedy I guess.

That is assuming all my lays are successfull!

Bounce back theory....

Soccer teams beaten at odds on then lay their opponents in the nxt game

if that bet loses lay/chase lay until that team stops losing

the justification for this is that if odds on in a match a team is invariably gd enuf 2 go games without losing

what u think!!

botd, my advice would be keep stakes small, but keep the data on computer or paper of your system then if your system proves successful over a number of bets then apply the most profitable staking plan eg level staking, pyramid staking, kelly etc.good luck.

There are some serious problems with this system. Teams don't have to be good to be odds-on. It all depends on the relative quality of the opponent. For example Burnley were odds on against Hull, as were Wigan v Wolves. In Wigan's case, their next two games were against Manchester United and Everton who were themselves both odds-on and Wigan lost them both, so you would be staking a high amount to get your money back. Would you really be laying Blackburn at 25.0 after Chelsea's odds-on defeat at Aston Villa?

spot on cpfc

i fully go by what u said i havent got across all of it in my post

i look at future fixtures and always target the good teams that get turned over

its not perfect but when u apply judgement and future opponents to it it can be profitable

any more thoughts?

The problem you have is that teams losing at odds-on are either not that great, and may then face far better teams, or they ARE that great, but you have to lay at huge odds - e.g. Chelsea played Blackburn after losing at odds-on and Blackburn were 25.0. That's a high lay price, even if Chelsea did win easily.

Your system might well work better in a more even league than the Premier League but I don't have the stats to hand. It could be worth tracking for a while though. It's an interesting idea.

Personally, I prefer to focus on teams that are playing similar strength teams. I have the Premier League broken into four groups and find value on the intra-group games.

Doesn't matter how much you win, so long as you win.

Actually, the amount you win is rather important. Winning takes time and effort, and if you're winning £1 a week for 20 hours, most would consider that a poor return, but if you're winning £1,000 a week for the same effort, that's not too shabby. Of course if you're losing after a year or so on here, then you should probably just give it up.
