effectively it's a premium on high success...the majority of people it impacts will be looking at making their own profit more effecient... therefore any non 'very high efficiency' betting by definition will have to be moved off site won't it ?

Zero risk on Betfair and common sense I would say. If you adopt a higher risk strategy for part of your betting on Betfair you will increase the % of profit paid in comm and reduce the effect of the PC charge. I am giving consideration towards how best to deal with the charge and betting low risk and paying 20% relentlessly would not be my choice.

High risk can lead to trouble if your a premium charge payer.
Lose a thousand one week then win a thousand the next and due to the charge you have actually lost 200.
Anybody who has been here years and is lifetime profitable would need to completely change strategy for quite some time in order to avoid the charge

lippy, I'm considering a few things. I reduced my markets per 60 wks below the level for the last PC charge and took most of my business elsewhere. Now it's a different story and another problem to solve. After considering everything it may be better to go elsewhere, I shall have a good think. Ironically, it may be that bookmakers' refusal to lay bets has given Betfair all the support they need.

I've slowly but surely adopted the same style as brentford over the last 60 or so weeks. Stuff with a greater chance of losing I'm shipping elsewhere.
If they paid rebates then I wouldn't but why would I ever want to pay 26-27% on a win on the assumption that they'll let me off it next week if I lose.
Betfair is still great for trading in running, but having a bet.. that's for other places.
