Found it more enjoyable watching and betting on football before VAR. I would only keep it for short format comps such as World Cup's, Euro's, any domestic knockout tournament etc, but that's it. 38 game season with VAR in every single match is too much.
The genie's out of the bottle now so it will never be put back in, but if we had a vote I'd vote for it to VAR off.

VAR is good at catching cheats.
It's the Refs who are inconstant in enforcing the laws. |

I would vote to get rid.
But then you go back to more errors. A well run var would get my vote Pgmol/ pro ref clearly needs upgrading more than var, and I'd vote for a new unbiased, and clean refereeing system with refs miked up to tv,.... Not happening with the current bunch. |

I'd like it for clear and obvious errors only, which is what we were told it would be. Clear and obvious to a person sitting on their couch at home. No forensics or searching for reasons to disallow goals and it being used on very rare occasions.

VAR is invaluable at corners where there is still so much wrestling going on.

In a minority, I quite like the concept of VAR
Correct decisions are rarely praised or remembered. The only problem I would vote for is to get rid of pro Refs in the VAR box and intensive training for an independent group, who are technically efficient. Officials may be okay on the grass, but put them in a new technical environment, time and time again has shown they are clearly not capable. |

I'd vote to keep it personally.
What I'd really want to happen far more than it is currently, is that VAR get involved and tough on players diving and feigning injury. An instant yellow followed by a red for a repeat offence. Now "that" would be progress. |

Yes. To much contention since it came in, the only good thing it shows how difficult it is for referees. Even with VAR I have heard judges have different opinions if a goal should stand or not. I support a lower league team, VAR would have saved us and gone against us, however it would kill the flow we have in lower league football.

I would say yes. Get rid.
Simply put the offsides were handled competently enough by the Line-Os anyway. Red cards and pens are a matter of opinion. Might as well stick with the onfield decision most of the time. And the main point is this. No brand of football suffers at the hand of the VAR official as does English football. The reason for the popularity of the EPL is its end to end nature. Refs give a lot less free kicks here as compared with the continental football. So if you get some plonker sitting in a booth looking at the build up to a goal, chances are he is more likely to find a foul than in mainland europe. Having said that, there is no way the EPL will ever go back. |

It's clearly shown itself to have failed because since it's come in there is at least as many wrong or at the very least subjective decisions being made and the game is a poorer spectacle as a result, so what's the point?

theres no point in getting rid of VAR as the tech i there and even if EPL arnt using it SKY,MOTD,social media.X will still be showing all the wrong calls,like they do in the chamionpship,just with no recourse to putting over 90% of wrong calls right

Adapt it and make it better: absolutely Yes. It needs amending for what exactly it looks at, and how it looks at decisions. Apart from that catching errors or cheats is fine thing to do. |

It's a joy killer Stu, the wait for VAR no matter how long it is, has killed the spontaneity of the game, any cheats can be retrospectively dealt with as they should have been years ago, 3 match ban for diving etc, will stamp that out.
Now nobody celebrate a goal properly anymore, have to wait for some plum sitting in a booth in Stockley Park to check his Overs Acca before we get a decision. Kind Regards. |

Really liked Artetas determined evaluation of the ridiculous VAR decision for the penalty, really put the pressure on the whole nonsense, Carrick likewise after the Derby, we need a lot more of that.
Ask yourself this question, if before the start of VAR you were able to be shown a snapshot of how it has gone and offered the choice of going with it or not bothering the decision would be 100% not to bother IMO. There's your answer. |

18 months later and it's still a joy killer, and it was fans I was asking, we all know the clubs voted stupidly to persist with it as decisions keep them in jobs, we all know the % of correct decisions has increased, but from fans point of view and an entertainment point of view, it's made the game worse. if clubs outside of the EPL top 4/ELITE,think they get the worst of VAR, with fans seeing every decision, from every angle, gaining from var calls at times whichthey might not without var, VAR officials held responsible for wrong calls via bans etc, common sense must tell anyone that clubs outside of thetop 6 would be mad to vote it out,they,d get far more decisions go against them without VAR
