Good player alright.

He has very good hold up play and movement in the box/finishing. I'd say he'd have done well at WHU this time but much more upside for him in La Liga + CL experience. Mourinho gave him his debut at Spurs then loaned him out (rightly).

He tries hard which is a big plus.
Too many players on 100k a week jog around for 50 minutes and spectate from the stands the other 40 minutes.

How did they get away with paying only 13.7 mil for a 24 year old who in today's market must be at least 40 mil, Alkmaar mugged off, unless his contract was running down. Kind Regards.

Spurs let him go for just £6.7m two years ago. 

Presume he must have been on a 3 year deal, so only one year left. Hence the seemingly low transfer fee, although AZ still doubled their outlay.

So many players in the PL would do far better playing abroad than playing at muck like West Ham, Everton, Spurs etc..
