This topic comes up every now and again, it'd never happen for 2 reasons, one being for the English clubs it'd be Turkey's voting for Xmas, as if Celtic and Rangers maintained survival in the first year or so, the Premier League money they get would allow them to grow pretty quickly, offering bigger wages to better players, eventually they'd be competing for the Champions League spots, and why would the PL Billionaire owners want that. Two being policing, it'd be a nightmare wherever they went with English v Scots supporters.

Celtic and Rangers are probably bottom Top 6 Championship / Bottom 6 Premier League sorta level, the rest are League 1/League 2 standard. There's no money there so it'll never grow. We live in a day an age where Brighton are outspending AC Milan on wages and quite comfortably so. We are The Land of Milk and Honey, and that's why the La Liga President is always crying about how much we spend on transfers and why he wants to play games abroad, someone needs to show the mug how much Madrid and Barca have spent on players over the years.

Kind Regards.

I don’t think Celtic fans want to play in England perhaps the board does.
Celtic are a massive club and would have a totally different squad if they were playing in England so it’s really a stupid thread.

Just for clarity my points
Celtic are a massive club they have 60 thousand season ticket holders and world wide fan base.
Celtic fans I know don’t want to play in England, they won European cup playing in Scotland

I think the majority shareholder would like toplay in England because Iits biggest league in world and the value of his stake would increase
If Celtic were in English premier league there would be much more finance available and able to buy better quality players and pay them wages players demand in that playing environment

to  be fair if a team i arachuted in to the premier lg, that would appyy to sheff wed, doncaster, lymouth etc etc, thats why clubs in btm 6 can  now pay 50,60 mill £ for bang average playe,s,if PLYMOUTH got parachuted in to EPL those 40.50 MILL players would be igning for plymouth, THE EPL needs  500 player,s

Had Celtic/Rangers joined English league they would be in better position.

It's pointless joining now as they wouldn't
compete financially,.. That boat has sailed.

They really need to be in a competitive league though and be able to increase revenues. They could sell rights to a competitive league but there can't be much interest in watching most of the games even if it was free,(outside of the teams own supporters)

If Scotland coefficient falls much further and less teams qualify for Europe then it just gets worse and worse for the league.

It's all money money money, and most of that is elsewhere.

Celtic very much the same as Red Star Belgrade ...fallen giants playing in a very low ranked league .
The likes of Ajax ,Benfica ,Galatasaray, Bruges don't have so much of an issue and presumably strike their own lucrative tv deals and can attract better players /sell better players ,more competitive fixtures    ...plus group stage CL money.

In a league where the winner gets about £5m in TV money, you have to generate transfer profits to bridge the gap.
The likes of Ajax, Porto, Benfica focus on producing and signing young talent and developing them into more valuable players to be sold eventually. In Scotland it's more about spending on more experienced first team players to try to get euro revenues. The youth system seems to be very lacking in Scotland tho.

Celtic and Sevco fined heavily by SFA, and fans banned I have no problem with that, scumbags should be identified and banned then they won’t cause the Club any problems it’s unacceptable behaviour.

Bundesliga 2 free on YouTube, as the SPL is not up to that standard they could maybe pay people to watch?

Celtic and Rangers could compete in the Premier League.

Their current teams would be bottom 6 at best, but as soon as they were admitted they could sign a much higher quality of player.

They would be chosen for live games more than Crystal Palace/Bournemouth/Fulham so they likely would get more than the average TV money and the value of their sponsorship deals would be multiple times what they are now.

It's also likely that their current owners would be bought out by far wealthier entities.

Celtic very much the same as Red Star Belgrade ...fallen giants playing in a very low ranked league .

It was a big mistake in the late 1990s by Scotland and similar sized nations to agree to extra places for England, Spain et al in the Champions League without insisting on guaranteeing places for their own champions.

They should have said "OK, let them have the 2nd, 3rd placed teams but just expand the competition to 64 teams". Instead they kept the numbers at 32 and the space for the extra big league teams was made by pushing out the champions of the smaller nations. This caused a transfer of revenue from the top teams in small nations to the 2nd,3rd, 4th in the big countries. Which then increased the quality gap and, down the line, justified further disparity in CL places.

Maybe the big leagues would have threatened a breakaway league but they would have been a strong reaction against that, as there was with the super league thing in 2021.

If Celtic and rangers somehow got into the premier league (or whichever league will take them, given the state of their fans) the rest of Scottish football would rejoice, as we all hate them.

We could go to games without the hatred and bigotry that these pair love, and promote. Would be a competitive league where hibs or Aberdeen or Dundee Ute could win it- 40 years!!!-  as all the other clubs outside the ‘in firm’ are on a level footing.

But as someone said above, their fans are orcs, and plod are not going to put up with their sh I te, and due to the 11-1 voting structure of the Scottish premier league, we have no chance to get rid of them as of course they vote together for everything. Bit of a mafia but that’s how they like it

Love the in firm getting horsed in Europe tho- fk the co efficient ;-)

Good point I’m not a rugby fan but football fans should take a lesson from their fans and closer to home GAA, if you’re aim is promoting hatred at a sporting event, stay away, although I will say other clubs in Scotland have scum in their support too, it’s not confined to Glasgow.
