Apparently Daniel Levy was emailing Simon Jordan throughout the summer, wondering what an earth Spurs were doing. Overpaying for all these average players.

Djed Spence is off to Inter where, unlike at Spurs, he is likely to be involved in a title challenge.
An act of generosity which would never have been countenanced under Levy. But one about which the fans seem to be remarkably relaxed.

With all this the midfield is still woefully short of the Elliott Anderson/Declan Rice types needed to thrive in the Prem. The '12% possession' brothers may have been shown up when it really mattered in the world cup but they are the very fellows you need for a long english season.
Revitalising the forward line is now depending upon the acquisition of the Man City pair of Marmoush and Savinho. For such an eyewatering amount that its leading some City fans to wonder that a $50m Tottenham bid for the lady who used to ring the bell at Maine Road in the 80s could be in the pipeline.

De Zerbi was in the PL before it became much more athletic/physical and set-piece oriented in the last 2 years. Senesi/Van Hecke are not good at that side of the game. Good ball players but not defenders. Judge Chelsea's attack against the big sides. Palmer has basically gone missing against them for 3 years. Pedro is v good tho. Rogers goes quiet too.
