Hello all. I wonder if anyone can offer an explanation for an unexpected pay-out I got recently on the Argentina / Switzerland WC game.
It's the halftime / full time market and I had a £130 positive position on the Argentina / Switzerland outcome
Arg were of course 1-0 up at half time and Switz equalised in the 67th minute. The game finished 1-1 in normal time.
I had auto cashout set to £90, Which I would have expected to trigger if Switzerland had taken the lead and the odds on the ARG/Switz outcome had come down to around 1.45. That didn't happen of course.
The only bet that shows in my account is a £617.02 lay of the ARG/Switz outcome at odds of 7.4, which won me £94.71. That bet was placed at 3.30am which is when Switz equalised (the game started at 2.00am). I was asleep!
The bet / payout must have been generated by auto cashout but I just can't see how the market could ever have been in the position to trigger it at my £90 level, given that all 3 remaining possible HTFT outcomes must have meant a profit of at least £90.
I hope I've explained that clearly - it's an odd one to get my head around.
I wouldn't recommend using Auto cashout on live events because your bet is subject to the timer and the price asked for could easily be gone by the end of the countdown.

Thanks for your reply. My position was a bit more complex than that as I'd traded a lot before the game and had a roughly +£130 position on both the 'turnover' outcomes and about +£10 on the other 7 outcomes. Does that effect why the auto cashout might have triggered?
I'd set the auto cashout well before the game started.

Use "exchange betting history" to check if there are any other bets that were placed at 3.30 but were unmatched and ended up cancelled, voided or lapsed.

Thanks again. No trace of anything there. I only see it under 'settled' with the liability, the odds req and the payout. It's chronologically the last of all my bets on the market.
Is it possible there were a load of in-play bets with the 'keep at suspension' box ticked that became terrible bets when the Switx goal went in and the auto cashout bot was in some able to harvest all that 'value' and so make bets to offset the £617 liability on the winning lay? I don't see those bets but as I've never had a winning auto cashout before I don't no what normally shows, after the market has been settled.

That's what I was thinking but then again i'd expect the HT/FT market to be really quiet during in-play(more so in the 2nd half) with only bots offering bets.
But if that was the case any bet that missed the price would show up in betting history.
None of it makes much sense because none of the selections show as £90 after the bet is placed.
A/S is now minus £490 and the others are about plus £104. And this didn't happen because you were matched at bigger price than requested.
Looks like you got away with one--best not to use cashout in future and definitely not in-play.
