Norway designated home team, they've done well to get this far, but they don't look like anything much without Haaland from what I've seen. England more strings to their bow and should go through.

Kind Regards.

I just haven't enjoyed watching England tournament games that much in the past few years, the football is often turgid and they have usually been playing much lower ranked teams and often needing a touch of fortune to beat them .

England managers from a few years back must be cursing they didn't get the same rub of the green with the draw etc as Southgate and now Tommy Tuchel have.

If they were playing a great brand of football a la France i would be right on side.

Lets not forget they were 3rd favs to win the damn thing yet listening to the OTT media you would think they were overperforming getting this far.

It's not sour grapes on the betting front from me either, i will collect a tidy four figure sum should they actually win the tournament.

Wasted opportunity.
They did quite well today before the fatigue got to them at the end of regulation, but just too many mistakes:
missed opportunity to not go 2-0 by not passing Haaland.
poor goalkick that hit the cable.
goalie clearing that ball at Spence (?) that nearly cost them the game.
Nyland's rebound at the goal.
some chances they could have scored on in the end, one was Berg.

not really, at least not by much, if you look at who those other teams beat and those teams were going to take each other out anyway. Well Portugal had a brutal draw, but that's what they get for finishing 2nd. England would have had a brutal draw if they had finished 2nd, but they didn't.

There is a reason their record is so good there - they normally play the likes of Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras and so on.
Brazil haven't played there since 2003 and Argentina have NEVER played there !!

The bulk of the Mexico team play in their domestic league and most football fans would be hard pressed to name more than one of their players without looking it up. No way would i rather play say Portugal, Netherlands or Morocco rather than them.

I do agree the Mexico at the Azteca stat is blown out of proportion for the reason you say. But they did turn out to be better than what I had expected, and England were lucky to not even go down by an early goal but instead go up by 2.

Yes Argentina have had a dream draw and were also helped by Colombia getting knocked out/Portugal not winning that group.

And I think England will come up short again once they play a top team, unless they massively up their game similar to how they did against Italy in the Euros final where they had also just scraped by before that.

The Argies haven't been very impressive in any of their KO games. 2 went to ET and the other they were 2-0 down with 10 mins to go. They don't look very fit and don't keep the ball well. Seems the 2 strongest teams are on the other side of the draw.

I don't mind interviewers asking tough questions, but this was him making himself part of the story too much, especially the stirring in the Jude interview. Wouldn't have minded it so much if they lost, but they won, they are still in the tournament and don't need drama like this.

Just found a replay of the spider cam incident (it's blocked on you tube by FIFA by the way)

The goalie clears the ball from the edge of the penalty area. It travels in a high arc peaking at

beyond the half way line. But instead of continuing on that trajectory it suddenly drops straight

down. Claerly the chip in the ball didn't work, or it's a ball that can defy the laws of physics!

Of course, our media barely mention the incident because England are through and that's all that

matters. Imagine if it had been the other way round with Norway scoring. All hell would have broken

loose in our media! Unfortunately, the game has become the worst sport in terms of sportsmanship and

fair play for a number of reasons. Not least the fact that it's run by the historically most corrupt

sporting body of all time.
