USA v Bosnia Round of 32 World Cup in San Francisco

A lot of hype about USA team but they just look the same as other World Cups to me...

A lot of energy, OK at the basics, but not much skill or imagination. And so they lose to the first team that has the technical edge on them, which probably won't be Bosnia, but I wouldn't be shocked.

Yeah im leaning the same path. I have a bit on Bosnia to make it to the Round of 16. Not going too heavily on this game but can probably see a few cards to the Bosnian team here. They will look to slow down the pace as much as possible I'd imagine.

Don't fancy Bosnia at all here but the US are too low. The US are playing some good stuff under Poch. Wouldn't read anything into the Turkey game, that was their 2nd team.

Sometimes you get a team who look rotten from the start, don't improve much, but somehow get through an opponent expected to beat them, and sometimes further than that, without ever playing well. Could Bosnia come into that category?

Why do refs keep blowing the whistle at corners for skirmishes in the box ffs, just let them get on with it and as the corner's taken, then blow if there's a foul. It literally happens at every corner given at the world cup.

I remember when Pearce was the prime commentator for the BBC with all the plum gigs at the World Cup, now he gets the runts of the litter to commentate on like USA-Bosnia in the early hours.

Bosnia tallest team in it, 3 of their 5 goals have come from corners. That's their only hope based on that first half. If they go 2 down they will get a red imo but cards markets not in-play on the exchange

yanks have been lucky with 2 first goal OGs in both their wins and tonight was just as if not luckier

100% a red, if there was discretion it would have been a yellow as it's the US. Intent doesn't come into it when it's endangering an opponent

WTF was that keeper doing for that free kick - Sunday league attempt at a save.

It was a rake down the calf followed by a potential ankle breaker. Could give a red for either, intent doesn't come into it. Neither does whether he stays on (not that that's known when decision is made).

All three hosts are doing very well so far but Canada will most likely go out to Morocco on Saturday. I hope I'm wrong though.

The Fk was also excellent. V hard to hit & save. Nothing Sunday League about it. It was a knuckleball, not floated like you'd see a lot earlier from a further distance

The first goal was strange basically a tackle played back into the danger area.
The second they had 2 walls with a great big gap in the middle and the goalkeeper still manages to palm it into the net.
They were 1 down after the sending off and wasted god knows how long passing it around in the middle third.

I reckon what was more suspicious was why the ref was hesitant to give a red card . Secondly, why only the 2 cards all up in the game? (im excluding the one given to the manager) A bit of pushing and shoving and alot  of stuff let go.

They way they could get around it, is if FIFA 'extend the red card to 3 games', only then would he actually be able to appeal a he can't with the 1 game ban.
