I am sure that SKY et al are petitioning the Premier league for 'hydration/drying out/warming up breaks' so that we can see more of Ray and his bet 365 ads......................

The TV companies just want to make a few bob and Arteta had already introduced random time outs so why not?

Coaching break and a chance to take a drink is more like it.

Just get on with it and sub them if they cant stand the heat.

I don't know much about Cycling and I don't rate is a sport, more an endurance event, or a case of 'may the best chemist win', but I'm pretty sure they a bit more than the odd bottle of water to get the through that event Laugh

Cyclists on the TdF are kept supplied with liquids, gels and snack food by the team cars and domestics.

Cycle race slows down so field can have a pee break
and allow peeers to catch back up.

Yeah, and allows broadcaster to do ad break, so works well.

Footy doesn't need 4 quarters, and good to see goalie timeout
is being stopped.

Easy solution as it is just a coaching breaknow , players have to go to the centre circle and drinks brought on . no coaching staff allowed on the pitch .

I am fully aware of what goes on in The TDF

They don;t all pull over to take Drink Breaks , The last hour or so  when things get serious they wont be taking on liquids

these F'nnies are on the pitch 20 mins Laugh

Do you think riding a bike at controlled levels takes as much as running
around after a pigs bladder at max output for 20 mins

I doubt a cyclist hits max output for long during
a 5 hour race and top guys are cosseted by team mates
like having 2 guys carrying Mbappé around on a litter
until he's required to hit top gear.

When they have track sprint races over 200m they have
a good break before going again in best of 3 series.

They stay within limits, get slipstreaming and folk doing work for them.

Then they ride in pack for a week for a rest.

Of course there are a few top guys who have super
endurance but some guy is 2/5 for tour de france
so it's not much of a contest, but plenty of advertising.

Playing footy 60 times a season at high level is
far more taxing than just about any sport.

Yer dogs run 400m a week, top midfielders are running
10k, and getting battered...

not too much slip streaming going on Climbing in the Alps , top teams go from tour to tour ,plenty of one off races ETC

what I am saying is Half time is plenty , the Yanks probably involved to get Adverts in ,I myself think it ruins the games

TBF despite peoples Fears, its the only negative ,hardly an empty seat at most games ,there

will be none from here on in , people have a lot more dosh than I imagine

not sure the seats behind don in the Final will be too popular ..

Not sure Slip streaming makes a Lot of odds on Steep climbs Donnie ,will more than likely sit in the Slip stream as a plan of Attack , Flat sectioned or Downhill Different

What difference can Slipstream make on a hard Climb ?

maybe they could introduce a bit of Slip streaming for players in these world cup Games ,Perhaps attach a Bottle to their Heeds ?

Here's some Hydration from back in the Day , One of the greatest Players to ever put a pair of Boots  on

There will be a few steep slopes where they go so slow there is minimal slipstream advantage but over the 3 weeks that's a small proportion of the total. 1 or 2 % maybe.

Delivering Taddy to those slopes in prime condition is done
by him slipstreaming his team mates, at a pace that burns out
team mates and keeps him inside his max output.

No slipstreaming in time trial either, supreme test.
